Rosmary was a bit busy when we arrived so provided us with a minimum of information - unlike the enormity of helpfulness we had received at other B&B's . She and her family lived across the hall, however, and she offered her help anytime we needed it. The room itself was smallish, but pleasantly decorated, had a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom and small frig. A table or desk would have been a nice addition but there wasn't much space for one. Lighting was quite low. For our breakfast we were given coupons for Bar Centrale, probably a 5 minute walk away and well worth it. The people at the Bar were welcoming and warm, explained our choices and showed us our table The baked goods were delicious, apparently baked on premises. the breakfast consisted of choice of warm fresh rolls or pastries, coffee, juice. Though this was different from the usual B&B, it worked out well. The location was very good but I might suggest earplugs as the noise from the street below comes through, especially around 5 or 5:30 a.m. when the garbage men come through. And a warning, there are 2 long flights of stairs to climb. A pleasant place for a couple of nights in a sweet...
Read moreB&B solar was perfect for what we needed- a really central space with a small kitchen to help keep costs down. We stayed in the self catering, high ceilinged room which had a funky modern decor, Juliette balcony and a nice little kitchen which was very useful for breakfasts and the odd evening in (there’s a bakery a few doors up that sells lasagne and the like, yum) . The b&b was a 3 minute walk to the pretty harbour where we spent many a night drinking cocktails and strolling around the harbour like the locals. For great pizza and antipasta head to Pizaria Nabucco in a little square off Via Vincenza Fabiano, which is also where everyone just hangs out eating ice cream from the gelateria (some of the best ice cream we have ever tasted!). Very recommended, great little town! There is also a great sea facing, tree lined park with a pond full of turtles, very cute! There’s a lido (a sheltered beech rather than an outdoor swimming pool) about 30 mins walk to the south of the harbour, it’s a great place for swimming, I swam out about 200m and the water is never deeper than waste height, the beech there...
Read moreA bit like Venice, navigating through the one way streets and no parking areas was the only hassle. However with the little Italian I knew and the hospitality that still exists out there, a lovely stranger jumped in with us and got us there with hand signals and smiles!! We arived later than expected however were able to have dinner by th portside for less than 40Euro and returned to the B&B for the evening. Rosanna was lovely and gave me all the information I needed, our room was the medieval one which wasnt scary but rather full of orange tones, a huge space with soft bed, flat screen TV, wooden floors, large sofa and private ensuite complete with bidet. Only suggestion is that they might like to put in a little body soap as most people dont travel with them and it is typical of a B&B to have them. Otherwise the room and town of Trani was...
