Just returned from a lovely holiday at Hotel King, which I would definitely recommend. Its a comfy and relaxing base in an attractive resort, which in turn is near plenty of superb places to visit. ||||Pluses - very friendly staff and good location. Very clean and the pool is lovely. Rooms are quiet, beds very comfy and I had excellent nights sleep. Plenty of niceshops and restaurants nearby (viale versilia) . Nice and quiet and my balcony had lovely sea views. Mostly good breakfast - especially the cold buffet. And ask staff for a pot of coffee if you want more than one cup. Bus service runs from outside the hotel. Check times though as they are only every 30 minutes. ||||The cinque terre are a must see. Ittook over 2 hours to get there as the buses and trains are not very frequent, so I would recommend doing all in one day. Pietrasanta town is beautiful and I also enjoyed La Spezia, especially by the marina and the castle.||||A few things could have been slightly better - the hotel is a good 3 * but I'd say that the 3 star is about right. Rooms are slightly small, as is the bathroom. The hot food in the breakfast buffet was either bacon and eggs or tinned sausages and eggs. And they ran out of these quite early and took a while to be replenished. No do not disturb signs for the room doors either, even though I asked for one. And not many staff speak English. ||||That said, these are minor things. The hotel offers a friendly relaxing atmosphere, is reasonably priced and ina beautiful part of the world. I would definitely recommend it and...
Read morepent 10 days this rather her nice family run hotel and had a superb holiday. The room was a bit small but very comfortable and included a safe, wi fi and hangers! My room was kept clean as was the whole hotel. the pool area was attractive and also very clean, and was in full sun from about 10 am to sunset I was b and b only, and breakfast was plentiful if not varied. The multi lingual staff were excellent . It is in a great location for the beach if you want to relax, and a perfect base from which to explore Tusnay.||It was the end of the season, so there was no pool bar,and most of the beach bars were closed, but it was only a 15 minute walk to the centre where there were plenty of places to eat. For more of a bustling centre, Viareggio is a 10 minute drive.||Pietrsanta is on a long coast road with numerous pay beaches and a free one nearby. Because of the cost of a coach from the airport, I had a car for the whole time. Pisa is about 40 minute drive Lucca just over an hour and Florence under 2 hours by driving to Pisa and getting the train for best flexibility. The townof Pietrasanta is well worth a visit. Cinque Terre is 5 colourful hill top villages that are stunning against the beautiful scenery and should be at the top of...
Read moreThe hotel's location is at one block and a half from the coastal road. The advantage is that the location is calm and without street cars noise. Parking available free of charge. The pool is nice and you can enjoy a small bar. This hotel could be family oriented, so you'll have some animation at the pool with kids. Breakfast is great, you can order free cappuccinos and the staff is friendly, your day starts with a smile. On the other hand, the corridors and room are quite old. The room I'm staying at has AC which is a must, but you need know that it can't be turned on with the window open. This is good but you only have to know it. The room is quite small and the most dislike is for the bathroom. You can't move in it, it's over packed. The shower is worse, I can't turn around without touch the water control nor the doors. Beds are OK, but could be wider. One detail : there is a synthetic leather wall at the bed head which smells like hell. Not easy to no breath it when you're trying to sleep. American express card not...
