President Hotel Forte dei Marmi — Hotel in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

There was a bit of concern when we initially booked 7 nights half-board in Hotel President.||All our troubles have disappeared on arrival. Yes, this is not a posh hotel and does not have much extras like swimming pool or spa. But this is small family run hotel with free roofed car park, beautiful private gold sand beach with bar and personal sunbeds and chairs, lovely Italian food and most important absolutely wonderful staff.||For me the best indication of good management, proper food and chef when hotel owners live in hotel and dine next table to you. Also being kind of basic hotel we admitted great cleaning service. For example, towels were changed twice a day and cleaning staff offered help few times a day and everything around was sparkling. Marco and Daniela in reception, two Robertos in the restaurant, Gino in the bar and Danielo on the beach despite some language barrier were very helpful and absolutely friendly.||Honestly, we have had very lovely break despite couple of days of rain and stormy sea. I would advice to rent a car as there are wonderful places around to visit - Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio and only 2 hours to Florence. I arrived in Forte dei Marmi last week end with my family, after an holiday in Rome and Venice.||It was a last minute decision because I wanted to go to the sea. We found an offer on this hotel and we booked. We were ready to arrive in a simple and basic place.||At the arrival we were surprised to find a nice and clean hotel not far from the sea.||Mrs Daniela welcomed us with a sweet smile. She gave us all informations we needed and took us to our room.||The room was a large and comfortable family room with garden view. We found the President to be a totally acceptable Italian hotel . It’s a few metres stroll from the beach , 10 mins stroll to all the restaurants and designer stores , and it has safe and secure guest parking on site .||Our room was feeling it’s age but was well sized and appointed had all the facilities we needed and we had a terrace with a lovely garden view to the sea .||||The staff were lovely and friendly and courteous.||The breakfast was fine and varied .||For our trip it was a perfect base to get a taste of Forte Dei Marmi .. and we enjoyed the whole experience very much .||For constructive criticism I would say that the hotel could consider updating its AC system as nowadays, even low cost budget business hotels have highly efficient climate control .. and this is a standard that international guests like us expect these days .. if that happens , this place will be close to...
