Hotel Punta Margherita — Hotel in Valtournenche

Stayed 4 nights half board just before Christmas 2016.||Breakfast -really good unlimited freshly ground coffee, fresh rolls croissants cheese ham etc .||Evening meal also good with salad course , excellent pasta course, main course and desert . The pasta course was the winner. ||Good three star hotel with car park , warm ski /boot room and a free hotel bus service to lift.||Lacked a bit of atmosphere probably because it was quiet... pre-Christmas rush. Small beer in bar was €3.50 which I accept is standard for a ski resort but why not offer this for a bit less and encourage people to use the bar. But we enjoyed our stay here . the hotel was mostly what we expected - old but well maintained and clean. family run business; staff was nice and helpful but unfortunatelly didn't speak english very well. food was good; true italian home style cooking and many local dishes. bus stops for the skibus and the buses going to cervinia, turin and milan are very close to the hotel (2min walk) ||||unfortunatelly the room we had (first floor with a tarrace) was very dark; the light had to be on all the time. the pillows were also incredibly hard and flat, very uncomfortable....

This hotel was a great value and very convenient. They had a ski storage area for boots and ski's which was nice, and they had a shuttle to the slopes. They are next door to a ski rental place also. My 11 year old son and i did had the perfect size room with a balcony overlooking beautiful mountains and streams. The owners were very nice and let us have breakfast at the bar when we missed breakfast due to jet lag !!||I hihly recommend this hotel if you are skiing cervinia.. 2 minute shuttle to the Valtournenche gondola.. i would...
