The hotel is far away from the Venetian centre yet therefore very expensive!||Our bed was so uncomfortable, both our back did hurt after the vaccination. Also the walls are so thin that hear every spoken word and television sounds from neighbours upstairs and next to you.|The service was awful. They did not change the towels, they did not clean anything!Nobody was around or at the reception, when I had questions I had to write via WhatsApp (what if one decides not to use WhatsApp??) these questions were answered very poorly, for example about the nearest Boat stations - no recommendations or tips for the city, restaurants, etc were given at all!||On the last day even though I send them a photograph of the credit card I would use (what is not common! And it is non of their business, how one pays anything - that's a totally private sector, especially as they work in a hotel) there was trouble on the last day. They did not cooperate at all and wanted me to pay cash, which I did not plan at all (I thought they already charged it from the credit card) They even addeded a very high city tax to the price, that they send via email before. Also they could have communicate these things before the vaccination, but as I already mentioned, there was no service! Read moreI checked out this morning, but I close my eyes and still see the colors of our beautiful room there. The lilac walls and those baroque decorations…everything about this hotel screams beautiful . This was my first trip to Venice and I wanted it to be flawless. I was about to book just your normal hotel with a big name, until a local friend recommended Avogaria 5 Rooms and I am SO GLAD we went for it. This is a gorgeous family owned house with the room quality of a 5 stars hotel and the personal attention of a local host. If you get the chance to find a room there, this is the way you should experience Venice! A charming and unique city like this one deserves a charming and unique stay like Avogaria. Beside the fact that the breakfast itself is fresh and delicious, spending that time with the hosts just added to our happy experience. Filippo and Fransesco are impeccable. Finally the location of the hotel is great: Dosorduro is less crowded than other districts in Venice, and it’s actually one of the prettiest.
