My sister and I booked this trip to celebrate her 30th birthday. She discovered il Melograno Relais through a friends recommendation, and it was definitely worth it! Even from before we arrived, Luca was incredibly helpful with giving me local information to organise surprises for my sister. Once we arrived, Luca was easy to get a hold of, very prompt whenever we needed him and was very patient any time we needed advice or guidance. ||The hotel itself was stunning - a great little find that made us really feel immersed in the town. The rooms were extremely spacious and spotlessly clean. Bed was super comfy, plenty of room to hang clothes etc. The area was also peaceful and we didn’t experience much noise disturbance at all, apart from a group of ladies who got together each night playing cards in their garden, but actually it was nice hearing them all chatting and laughing! The hotel also has a downstairs area where you go for breakfast which is a delicious selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc. One morning we had an excursion booked which meant we had to leave before breakfast started, and Luca extremely kindly bought us a selection to our room the night before to take on our journey with us! Nothing was too much trouble for him at all. ||The square was a 2/3 minute walk away and the train station around 5-7 mins. The town of Vico Equense is so beautiful and much more calm and tranquil than the surrounding towns like Sorrento. Every time we went to explore another town, we were so excited to come back to Vico for an evening of peace and fun! We tried a few restaurants; Pizzeria Da Franco (best pizza ever), Titos (try the tiramisu), Bistrot la Piazzetta (really great variety of food, highly recommend the beef), Il Barrio Osteria (more expensive but delicious). Also you have to visit Gelateria Gabriele, we were in there every night! Trains were super easy from the station, taking about 13 mins to get to sorrento, or the other direction to Pompeii, Naples, etc. We just tapped in like we would for the tube in London and it was super cheap :) ||All in all we would definitely visit and stay here again, as well as recommend it to others. Do wish we had a pool in the 37 degree heatwave, but we managed to use one down the road on our last day so can’t complain! Thank you so much to Luca for making our getaway so pleasant and going above and beyond to ensure we were...
Read moreJust returned from staying 5 nights here and I can not praise them enough. We wanted something central and near the station and it turned out beyond ideal - the perfect location.|The accommodation is 2-3 minutes to the main square and 5 to the station.|It was modern, clean, 5*. The bed was super comfy, bathroom new with the most wonderful shower. The fridge was ideal to chill water for the next day and store our prosecco, beer and olives!|A small balcony was perfect to sit out and enjoy a pre evening drink, we had a view onto the mountain. Upstairs however was a large terrace with sunbeds and seating area including huge brolly. |The host was great at communicating and so very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Even sorted airport transport for us.|Vico Equense was the prettiest town, true Italian. Views were stunning and an ideal location for the train to Erculano (Herculaneum) and Pompeii but going the other way 10 minutes on the train...
Read moreWhat can I say, this little B&B is a gem. The rooms are to a very high standard indeed. Beautifully decorated and very clean with air conditioning. Our host Luca is just fantastic, couldn't do enough for my wife and I. We used his transfer service to and from the airport, which is much more comfortable than the train. The breakfasts are typically Italian, lovely mix of fresh fruit, cheese and ham's and delicious sweet treats varied from day to day and a very nice cappuccino. The B&B has a sun terrace which gets the sun all day, with comfortable seating provided. Location is brilliant. Only a few minutes walk and you are in the centre of town, where there are lots of wonderful bars and restaurants. The train station is less than 10 minutes walk and easy and cheap to use. Sorrento is about 15 minutes journey costing less than €3. All in all this place is great. 10 out of 10. Needless to say when we return, we will be booking here again....
