This is a place for tourist, because you will most likely not return. We were seated and things went down hill. The waiter told us he was very tired and he stated that the 2.50 cover charge included bread and olive oil, which took about 25 minutes to arrive. We saw multiple tables arrive, served, and leave. Took for ever to flag our server to bring more wine and remind him about the bread and our order. It was one hour before we stopped our server and asked, "What's up with the food"? In 5 minutes our Primi and Second was dropped on the table together with a quick, "sorry". By that time we almost finished the wine and we were starved. The homemade pasta was well under cooked, tuff, not even al dente because the chef was probably told that our order was misplaced and we were waiting nearly an hour. The salad misti was similar to what we would have shaken out of a bag. I know that orders have issues sometimes, but come on. By the time we had food we were half loaded and starving, and the bulk of the customers were gone. No excuse. I would have felt a little better if they gave some acknowledgement or simple compensation, desert?, gelato?, nope. Too bad they can get away with this kind of service. Probably because most customers are tourist and don't return.
I would say, find...
Read moreThis was a very disappointing meal indeed. Yes, a warm welcome from Tito, and the terrace was pleasant (albeit it with plenty of traffic noise), plus service polite and efficient. However it’s the food that was the issue. I’m vegetarian, and as with virtually anywhere in Italy (where there are generally very few Asian/ ethnic restaurants), menu choice here was limited and especially uninspired. My pizza was almost inedible, consisting of a flat slab of very rubbery cheese topped by around 3 small tomatoes and a few tiny flakes of mushrooms- and none if the ‘fire’ it was supposed to have. It was dire. My wife’s meal consisted of 3 small deep fried cod balls, a tiny bowl of sauce, along with a bowl of rocket- around 24 euros for the pleasure of this. Accompanied by a small, very ordinary glass of local wine and a small Prosecco, nearly 60 euros in total! There was a cover charge imposed, for which no bread, olive oil dip etc was supplied- quite unusual. This meal was outstanding and memorable for being the worst we’ve had in many years- and there are certainly several better options from our experience in Vico Equense IMHO… PS I very, very.rarely write reviews- usually only if a place is outstanding, but felt really...
Read moreHard to know what rating to leave. We had what we thought at the time, was one of the best meals ever at Tito’s on 7 April. The staff were so wonderful to our family the food was absolutely delicious. We tried a couple of pasta dishes, the beef with mushrooms, and the tiramisu. Everything about our experience while there was fantastic.
But then 3 of the 4 of us woke up violently ill with what was clearly food poisoning that night/the next day. We’re not sure what dish made us ill (possibly the tiramisu because one person in our party tried only one tiny bite of it and did not get sick), but it wiped out an entire day of our vacation trying to get over feeling so badly. It’s hard to believe such a nice restaurant could mishandle food to the point of making us so sick. I feel badly leaving a less than stellar review but we will not soon forget how incredibly sick 3 of our 4 family members were on our vacation to this...
