Me and my daughter stayed two nights at this hotel in July. The hotel is located on a cliff overlooking the sea, partly the Amalfi coast and partly Salerno. The view of Salerno is not that nice - full of ships and docks. But the Amalfi coast side is very nice. ||The hotel itself is nice and the room was very nice with a view of the sea. The room was quiet and comfortable. There are a lot of stairs in the hotel, so you need to be able to walk well or ask for a room close to the one and only elevator. ||The beach is located on a pier and you pay for the sun beds and towels. 15 euros per person for the beach and 4 euros per towel. To get down to the beach you need to climb a lot of stairs. If you have problems walking this beach is not for you. ||The breakfast is nice. A lot of sweet choices but also eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, ham, yoghurt, cereal and fruit. As most Italian hotels there is a good choice of gluten-free options if you have celiac disease (cookies, bread, crackers, muffin). You eat the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea which is very nice. ||Parking is good. The hotel has some spaces where you can park for free. ||Overall, the experience was very nice and I would not have mentioned this but there was an incident with the owner when we were leaving that made me very disappointed with this hotel. The staff is neither nice nor unpleasant and now I understand after meeting the owner that the staffs’ role model is nothing to look up to. What I’m referring to is that when we were leaving the hotel our car was blocked by another one. I honked to get the driver’s attention because the car was empty. I might have honked one time too many, but the owner came to me and started to yell at me aggressively to stop. And I asked her to move the car which should have been obvious but she just kept yelling and screaming at me. That is not the way to treat a customer. After five minutes of yelling she went to get the keys for her car. ||So, the hotel was nice but this incident made the stay less pleasant. Unfortunately I will not come back to this hotel even if I like the other things.||I hope the owner only had a bad day. If she is like this to all the customers she will not...
Read moreThis is a warning to all travellers thinking of booking here - DO NOT! Never in my life have I experienced such an utter luck of customer service and left with a feeling of being totally ‘ripped off’. First of all the positives - the location is very good and it’s located in a very beautiful town. The rooms are okay, a bit dated but it’s exactly how the pictures are… it almost had a nice art-deco charm about it. Now onto the negative, and why I’d never recommend anyone ever staying here. On our last night, a beach club just next to the hotel was blaring loud techno music until well past 2am. Let me just say this made it impossible to sleep. At some points it was well over 80 decibels (with the normal recommended limit being below 40),for anyone unfamiliar we are talking music festival levels. This made it impossible to sleep, and let alone, this was my honeymoon and I was trying to have a romantic time with my partner. Now, I understand that noise issues happen but the complete ‘no care’ attitude of the reception staff was mind blowing. First of all they said the hotel was full and could not move us to another room (the next day we found out that this was not the case, by the hotel manager ), they did not even apologise and said it was the “last party of the summer” and refused to call the police or do anything about it as “it wasn’t their problem”. We ended up calling the police ourselves and they took the issue seriously. But we hardly slept that night and the next day, when raising this issue at check out, once again, they did nothing and offered no remedy to the issue. They told us we had to contact the booking platform for any type of refund or compensation. We have done this but they’re now are ignoring the booking platform entirely. Moving us to another room would of solved the issue straight away.. a refund of any type or offering us a couple of drinks would of helped. But we left this place entirely sleep deprived and with a bad taste of people not caring at all about their guests. This place is clearly just about money for them and not about the guest or their experience! They really don’t care about anyone else...
Read moreIn order for other possible customers, i will just leave an honest review. My stay was not unpleasant, as others mentioned each room gets a big balcony with beautiful sea view, location is great (and in short proximity of the marina (no stairs to get to and fro!), which is really what you need as to see the amalfi coast. you basically just need to ferry-hop).||But more about the hotel itself.||Rooms - quite small for 2 people. Sorry to say but very uncomfortable beds and pillows. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't really have a good night sleep any night. Shower was quite small, and you only get the 2-1 shampoo/body wash. Only pointing this out as for a 4 star hotel you would expect a bit more. Positives - the room was clean and you get good towels. ||Food - we only had breakfast at the hotel, which was ok but not something to write home about. For a 4 star hotel you would expect more. Only scrambled eggs/bacon/sausages as hot options. Very small selection of veggies, some meat & cheese and LOTS of cakes and pastries/breads. Good selection of fruit :)||Now for the part which was the most shocking to me - this hotel has a 'private beach', they call it the 'solarium'. It's beautiful and i would gladly pay the 15/20 eur for a bed and towel to enjoy my time there. What is not understandable is that as a paying customer of the hotel you are expected to pay to even go for a swim. The 'beach' part and the 'solarium' part had separate entries (as per the pic attached), so i really could not understand why i couldn't go for a swim in the morning (this is the thing i look forward to on holidays - a morning swim in the sea) for free, i was asked to pay 15 eur or basically get lost. The reception gladly explained to us that of course you have to pay to swim. Pay to swim!!! They have monetized sea water in Italy :D ||Although the stay was ok, i would advise future customers to adjust their expectations, this is not a...
