a very bad experience: being ignored for half an hour after the meal to order the customary 'café' (espresso) is very unusual for italy, but i have to think a long time back to think of any restaurant worldwide to match this negative experience: after ordering two courses and a good bottle of wine - which came in due time, no complaints there -, the owner takes forever to chat at the two tables next to me, ignoring the empty plate in front of me and not paying any attention at all to me. i am a kind and patient person, so i wait that someone might take away the empty plate and ask me what else i might want to order (desert and/or coffee, maybe a grappa), as is customary and may be expected. after about 15 minutes of nothing, i decide to see what will happen. after another 15 minutes, a total of 30 minutes, i block the owner's gaze into nowhere to get his attention. he lazily takes the café order, brings the espresso and placing it in front of me says 'tieni' - which means 'take it', which is a rude thing to say in the context. maybe the guy didn't like me, but he runs a restaurant, i at least consciously did nothing to offend him, so one can expect a little attention and decent behaviour for giving the guy money for his food and services, not to be treated like an unwelcome nuisance. and of course, when i left, no acknowledment from the guy, his back to me and not a sound. i did give the waiter a €5 tip for the €35 cheque, he was friendly despite being bossed around by the owner. the food (a mixed salad, charbroiled chicken and homemade fries) and the wine (fiano) was decent by the way, but the attitude of the owner totally spoiled...
Read moreThe location is great for al fresco dining, but the waiter was a complete jerk to my 3-year old. He messed up my daughter's order (hamburger) and brought her chicken instead. When I sent it back, he was so confrontational about it, and when he returned to the table 20 minutes later, he plunked the plate down in front of my toddler and scoffed like she had done something wrong. The burger was also undercooked and not suitable for a young child. The waiter didn't look at us again for the rest of the meal.
They charge you a €2.50/ person charge to sit and eat because they know the service is so bad that they would never receive tips. The salad that comes with the meal is seasoned only with lemon juice and salt. Please don't call this food, Ristorante Sud Est. This is Italy and you're...
Read moreMy family and I came here for dinner without a reservation and we didn't have to wait for a table. We each got our own pizzas, thinking they'd be personal sized, but they were actually quite large for one person! The pizzas were delicious!! The crust was crispy but soft and the flavors were very good. For the price, I thought it was a great deal!
The service was great. Our server was friendly and helpful. We sat in their outdoor seating area and the atmosphere was lovely. We could people watch as we were right next to a square. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. I definitely recommend...
