The worst onsen hotel I have ever been in Japan. I have been to 20 onsen hotels in Japan at different price point. This place is the worst value I have experienced.
The owner is too cheap to upgrade the hotel. It’s an old, smelly hotel, with limited facilities and poor hospitality.
1/ this shouldn’t be called a hotel I was shocked to find out guests are required to make our own bed. My husband, who’s a Japanese, told me this is also his first time being asked to do so in a hotel.
2/ smelly room The hotel is old and rooms come with molding smell.
3/ toilet is not in the room We paid 30000 yen for the room but there is a toilet in the room. And we need to walk at least 50 meter to the shared toilet.
4/ unreasonable fee Even though we paid 30000yen, we were still asked to pay for onsen usage fee and air con usage fee.
And the air con is so poor, which can only cool off 1 corner of the room.
5/ poor breakfast We paid 2000 yen each for the breakfast, yet, the food quality is not quite up to standard.
6/ there is not even a fridge in the room.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone...
Read moreHighly recommended. We have stayed in a few Ryokan in the area and this was the best. Owners were really friendly and recommended us a beautiful temple to visit and a very nice local restaurant we wouldn't have known of otherwise. This Ryokan has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay and the location is great to visit the wider area with the car. We felt very at home there and wish we could have stayed longer. I want to recommend this to other travellers. If you go, the owners like music and have a very cool karaoke machine with most songs you can think of in English (and they will join you...
