The location of this Hotel is just a few minutes walk from Gora Station. I had somehow booked a huge Japanese quad room with Tatami mats and futon mattresses for my husband and myself. So we love the space in the room. clean sheets were provided for the mattresses.|||| My booking came with breakfast. The breakfast was good - I loved the rice and soup and some other condiments and dishes that go with my Japanese breakfast. ||||The public bath was great. loved the space in there. ||||The area has quite a few eateries but do be warned some close quite early like 3-4pm. If you do walk uphill, you may find a couple of eateries still opened at 7pm. Even walking to the station before Gora does not really help as the shops close early. However, fret not, there are a few convenience stalls opened til late around Gora station, or near the Chukokuguchi station. ||||Good place to stay. be warned - do not bring huge luggage as the property has no lift. Oh, and there is a shop right at the corner at the top left side of the same road where the hotel is...they do sell blowfish sashimi. We actually bought a tray and the lady boss packed it for us to take away. One can also eat there. Really fresh!||||Would recommend this place...
Read moreThe resort is very near to Gora station. Having read previous reviews here, we came prepared with small luggage. Thank goodness because our room was at the top level and there is no lift! The traditional Japanese room is huge and our family of 4 adults were able to spread out quite comfortably. The futon beds are very comfortable. The main attraction of this resort is the public bath. We’re so glad we can experience this unique Japanese culture right within the resort. We tried to go to a natural outdoor Onsen at other venues, but many of them are either fully booked or closed early. Most of the eateries and shops closed early in Hakone, by 4 or 5pm. The nearest convenience shop is a uphill walk some...
Read moreWe stayed here 2 nights in a Western style room with private bath. It was quite expensive for Japan. They don’t have an elevator, so you have to lug your suitcases up to the 3rd floor. They don’t clean the room daily. They just leave fresh towels outside the door. The onsen is an interesting experience. However, the day we were there, they had some issues and the water was unbearably hot. On the plus side, it is very close to the Gora station, and the staff are very friendly...
