Ninja Cafe Fuma — Restaurant in Hakone

Amazing place! We stopped in initially because of the fun decorations and ninja music, but the food was the best we’ve had in Japan so far. We got fried chicken and a margherita pizza, it was SO GOOD. Really delicious pizza crust and pretty authentic. The best fried chicken I’ve ever had. They were fast and so friendly and completed dressed in ninja gear. Also, I got an ice cream cone and it came with a ninja star cookie! In my excitement I turned to fast and it spilled on the floor, I felt so bad for making a mess but before I could clean it up myself ok the blink of an eye they had cleaned it up and gave me another one for no charge. When we arrived, the place was open with some people inside. I went there with my two children hoping for a quick breakfast/lunch - it was the only open eatery in the area. While we were studying the menu (in English too), a person came out to take our order, but we were not ready. When, after a couple of minutes we entered inside, another person came and said they don't work or no food or somehing to that effect. It felt deliberate and extremely rude. Staff were initially lovely and told me they were open until 7, but would close later depending on how busy they were. However, when we returned at 5:30, they said they actually close at 5pm but would stay open late that night. I think this was an honest mistake due to a language barrier because they meant 1700hrs not 7pm. However, as soon as we started ordering food, they decided to close at 5pm after all.
