ゲストハウス SLOW HOUSE @kesennuma（スローハウス） — Hotel in Kesennuma

It was my first time in Kesennuma and I was so glad I picked this place. On a quick glance it does look like your regular hostel (e.g. shared bathroom, shared toilet), but the private room was actually spacious with a comfortable bed, a fuzzy warm blanket, and an AC that worked well. The location is alright, around 10-minutes walk from the closest BRT station and around 15-minutes walk to the pier district. One thing that stood out for me was how friendly and welcoming the staffs were (including the owners). The overall stay experience in here is certainly a bang for the buck!
