The Unizo Inn was one of the best locations I have stayed at in Japan. The room, relative to Japanese standards, is quite spacious and their degree of cleanliness is enough for even me, someone seldom fickle about cleanliness, to perceive. In addition, they also have a water dispenser situated just outside the elavator in the hallway leading to the room for anyone who might need some hydration. On the other side of the water dispenser was a VOD ticket machine for any guests interested in viewing the hotel's selection of movies. While I did not make use of this service, I am certain there are some travellers who would be most pleased to have something to entertain them even in their room. While I did not decide to have breakfast included with my room for the duration of my stay, the area in which the hotel is located makes it a prime location to acquire breakfast, whether that be a Matsuya right below the hotel or, my preference, Yoshinoya a little ways away. On the note of location, though, the hotel is well situated near Sannomiya station, giving ease of access to other regions of Kobe. That said, the wealth of restaurants and stores near the station alone could probably keep one interested in food occupied for a while. The staff were overall very friendly and the experience as a whole was most enjoyable. One point to note, however, was that like every other hotel I have been to in Japan, there is a stark absence of three-holed outlets so North Americans with three-pronged plugs should be aware of this and come prepared with an adapter...
Read moreWe booked this hotel through Agoda as we got a good deal. The hotel is very conveniently located around 12 minutes walk from Shin-Kobe station where we got down from Shinkansen. The hotel is also a only 7 minutes walk to the Sannomiya station .The hotel is located in the very picturesque “flower road”. It is a new hotel which you can make out from the fact that all fittings are in very fine state and the hotel looks immaculate. The check in was fast and the staff courteous , not very friendly and spoke English. They also gave a 500 ml bottle of water to each one of us although the water in the washroom is potable as in all of Japan. The room is small as in all hotels in Japan but very well appointed. The TV does not have an English Channel. There is universal power adopter for use as also free green tea with coffee maker. The toiletries are of good quality. The air conditioning is perfect. The bed has a head board. They even provide a wooden board to keep your laptop on your lap. Breakfast is served in the cafe attached tote hotel. They have choice of sets of breakfast including bread, egg and sausages. However there is no black tea but you can get brown rice tea. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would...
Read moreShould be between a 3-4 stars review.
Hotel location is actually not that close to the station, around 10 mins walk, and with heavy rain during my stay, the walk is actually quite bad. There's a 24 hours Lawson and fast food restaurants just downstairs, breakfast is provided by that instead of a proper hotel restaurant.
Staffs are friendly, helpful and nice.
Rooms are small as expected, clean though. However, most single room and double rooms do not hv a view!!! The window are blurred and even opened, you will feel claustrophobic. Amenities are self service at the lobby. Hotel chain like APA offer smart TV with YouTube and Netflix streaming, but what you get is a small tv that they purchased like 7 years ago.
To be honest, if I have chosen again, I will choose other hotels in that area, given the price was $550 hkd per night. There are so many other options with free onsen or free breakfast or free happy hour. But four points flex offer none of these. Without the opening offer, the room rate could go up to $700-800 per night, and comparing other hotels in the area, this might just not be a wise choice.
I guess if you are a Marriott fan and love earning your points, then that's could be the reason for you to...
