We came for lunch. The wait was 1 hour and 15 mins to get in. It was another 30 minutes wait once we placed or order. This place only seats 10 people, and the owner does everything by himself. Therefore, the wait unavoidable if you eat here. Kobe beef over rice is all he sells. It's large for 1500 yen, and small for 1300 yen. A raw egg is 100 yen, and a beer is 500 yen. With all that said, it is very good beef over rice. It's the best I've had at least. It's very tender and juicy. The soup that came with it was peppery, and it helps cut down the richness from the beef, so save some for the end. Overall, a great value and delicious meal. A tip though, is to visit after a nice breakfast so that you will not mind the wait as much.

I’ve come a around 19:00, need to wait around 45 minutes to get my food on the table. Reason for this, it’s a limited seats with only 10 persons. A one man show: greets, cooks, served and wash the dishes by himself. Overall it’s a good food with 1500 yen for big portions additional 100 yen for raw egg (don’t forget to stir the egg and pour it to the gyu-don). Feels a different experience and ambience. Not recommended for people in hurry!

The food is a 4 but the wait is not worth it if you are a tourist and have a day of activities planned. We arrived at 2:15pm and waited an hour before being seated. Thereafter we have to wait until all 10 seats in the restaurant are filled out with customers before the chef begins cooking for the whole batch. The system could be improved for efficiency or he needs to hire a helper! All in all it took up 3 hours of our day!

If you are a tourist in Kobe only for a day or two, it is a crime to have a meal without beef. As many other reviews have mentioned, this place has very long wait time. To me, "worth the wait" is an understatement. If you like beef or beef bowl, this is a must try! As of July 2017, the menu price is 1300 for regular, 1500 for large, 100 for a raw egg, and 500 for beer. Meal comes with soup and salad. Also tea is free.

A bit expensive "Gyudon" bowl if compared to ordinary gyudon available at chain restaurants like Yoshinoya, Matsuya or Sukiya, but it's totally different from those kinds. It should be called as something like "sukiyaki bowl", and worth tasting it for over 2k JPY. You should come here for early lunch right after the restaurant opens at 11am otherwise you have to wait in a queue outside before having your seat.

The restaurant is intimate and cozy, just like what you are looking for from a truly Japanese place. The beef was extraordinary and melts in your mouth. The owner is extremely kind and welcoming, he found the way to prepare 3 big portions for us even though he was almost out of beef for the day. And the closing sweets that he gave us were the extra mile! ごちそうさまでした！
