Some of the staff was not friendly during check-in. We arrived and parked in their parking lot across the street, but when we checked in, they said the lot was full and we could not park there and had to move immediately. It was not full, but they offered no other explanation and insisted we move. We said we would move the car to the other lot once we put our bags away, but they called our room right after we got in and told us to move the car or else there would be “trouble.” Literally no one parked there until after 10pm, so I don’t know why they rushed us. The beds were nice, but the bathroom was really cramped (even with the toilet positioned diagonally, my knees almost touched the wall and I do not have long legs). In the evening, the elevator was being serviced and they told us to take the emergency stairs, but the stairs were blocked by a van and we could not reach them (quite the fire hazard, if you ask me). They then told us to wait in the lobby until it was fixed, which only took 5 minutes, then we were able to get back to our room. In the morning, the cleaning staff came by before check-out time, knocked on the door, and I said “yes?” (which they may not have heard) before they opened it, which was quite surprising. I would stay here again if I had to, but would definitely explore other...
Read moreHotel AreaOne in Kochi is a nice little hotel. I'm told by some of my friends that live in the area that it is a newer hotel. It is fairly close to the train station (about a 5-8 minute walk). I stayed there for 6 nights by myself and it was very comfortable. The room was small but had everything I needed. It wasn't spotless but it wasn't dirty. The cleaning staff were very friendly and always left a lot of clean towels outside of the room even when I didn't need the room turned down. I didn't actually eat at the cafe downstairs but it seemed nice and was usually busy. The staff were quite friendly and spoke some...
Read moreRelatively close to Kochi Station and quite close to shopping and nightlife districts. The hotel and rooms are a little dated, but the front desk staff were really friendly and attentive and it is good reasonably priced. WiFi was good and nice to have a kettle and decent cups to use. Mini-velo bikes are available to use which is great! The breakfast was a nice change, choose from two of three kinds of sandwiches plus side dishes and a limited selection of cereal, juice etc. Though, not great for vegetarians and vegans would...
