We stayed here for three nights and the location is great as you can walk to the Bihan historical area, as well as the JR station and Mitsue Outlet Mall which are around 750 m away.

There are a myriad of eateries in the area, from izakaya to ramen, and a tonkatsu restaurant with a Michelin star.

The hotel provides amenities such as yukata, dental and shaving kits. There is also a high tea with some sweets and some savouries. Breakfast is included in the price and you collect the boxes from the lobby. It was similar on all three days and included cold sandwiches and salads. If you want coffee you need to buy a hotel tumbler for 1000 yen, after which hot drinks are free flow.

The bed was slightly on the hard side. Do note that housekeeping just clears the rubbish and changes the towels, and nothing wlse is done.

Staff were friendly, particularly the younger ones wearing the blue shirts, such as Ms Pek from Korea and the young Indian man.

The exception was the female floor manager in black suit, who was effusive to locals but did not seem to know how to deal with foreigners.

Overall, it was a...

This seems like a brand new property. Even though the rooms are a little bare bones, I don't think I have ever stayed at hotel in such immaculate condition. There is none of the wear and tear from luggage rubbing against trim or walls. No stains on the carpet or walls. The cost for our stay was extremely reasonable ($24 per night). There is self-service laundry, an ice maker, and a microwave available to guests. Additionally, there is an area to pick up amenities such as toothbrushes, bath salts, and instant coffee. The small gift shop sells local demin products. The onsite restaurant offers afternoon tea (which we did not try at this location. However, based on our experience at their Fukuoka property, the tea is really impressive). The location is a short walk from the historic district and the train station. The one down side is the beds! We stayed in a twin room on the third floor overlooking the parking lot. The beds are extremely firm-kind of like sleeping on the floor. The pillow was also extremely firm. This combination of firmness made it hard to find a comfortable position...

As reviewed by many, the free welcome afternoon tea service is simply unbelievable especially considering how cheaply priced the rooms are and that it is literally a stone's throw away from the historical quarter. There has been a few suggestions that there could be certain improvements but honestly, for the price, convenience and service (afternoon tea aside, the staff are polite and sweet), you simply CANNOT ask for more. Amazing, amazing value! P.s.: it's been mentioned in some reviews that there's no socket by the bed. While that's still the case, the drawer of the dresser table in my room included an extension cable and I was able to use that to plug the charger for my phone and put it on the bedside table.
