I stayed here for 12 nights, it's a Very Traditional Japanese home you can do some cooking via a microwave and make tea & coffee, The location is just right and the nearest station (Hanazono) is about 10 minits away and takes you in to Kyoto station cost 200¥ one way & about 10mins||The proprietor was a very friendly Gentleman and gave me fruit every morning and he did understsnd some English so it worked out very well. I highly Recommended this place but is a good idea to take earplugs as you can here people in the next room especially if they come in late. I am going to book this place again Next year 2020 just hope I can get a room as its Very popular. There are some eaters in the area and a very big Supermarket just at the crossroads as you turn right on the main road (towards the Train Station) out of the guest house also the Proprietor will give you a Map of Walking map of Kyoto which is Very useful especially if you like walking every where which is what I love to do, I clocked up around 17 mikes a day and the weather was very hot for November, I can't Recommended this place enough just prefcet if...
Read moreThe guesthouse is very comfortable, clean, and well maintained, feels like home. It is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood, perfect for those looking for a relaxing time away from the crowd. A few establishments open til late and there are konbinis around.
The AC has heating option and an extra tiny heater also provided, so it was pleasant even though the weather was cold (I came in mid April).
There is a bus stop nearby, but train stations are around 15 mins away walking. If you bring a large suitcase, you cannot ride buses so this might be something to consider.
The gentleman who was hosting me was very friendly and lovely, he even gave me an omiyage before I left. I truly enjoyed...
Read moreI stayed here for a week in August. The owner was incredibly nice and went out of his way to make me feel at home -- without being at all intrusive. The Japanese-style room is a bit minimal, but comfortable enough and has all the basic amenities: air conditioning, a table, hangers, an electric kettle, etc. The location is convenient (walking distance to the Hanazono JR station, Tokiwa tram station, and a city bus station) and the neighborhood is quite pleasant. There are two supermarkets, two convenience stores, a couple of restaurants, and a coin laundry within a 10 minute walk. Cannot ask for more...
