This review is for tourists considering a stay in Kyoto, Japan.
Context: We stayed for 8 days and 7 nights as a couple for vacation. Overall, our experience was extremely positive.
A. Proximity to Attractions: The apartment is within walking distance of a train station, subway station, and bus stop. This makes it easy to travel to famous Kyoto attractions, as well as popular prefectures like Osaka and Nara (we visited both locations and can vouch for their accessibility). We also saw others using taxis, so it’s clear that the area is well-connected.
The neighborhood is residential, safe, and quiet. There is a nearby convenience store, and a supermarket and police station are just a short walk away near the subway station.
B. Living Space: The living space is ideal for a couple. The apartment is clean and provides all the basic appliances, cookware, utensils, and toiletries you might need for a typical stay. The bed size is comfortable for two people.
Regarding the bathroom, tall or big individuals may find it a bit cramped, but it was fine for us. The water pressure is good, with both cold and hot water available. Well at least you have your own bathroom and toilet here compared to other hotels and places we see on booking sites where they only offer shared bathrooms.
There are 2-3 outlets for your personal devices if other appliances are in use. While the Wi-Fi is not very fast, it suffices for basic internet browsing. We had portable Wi-Fi, so we seldom relied on it, but it's nice to know we had a backup in case we ran out of data.
Please note that there is no elevator in the apartment, just stairs, so be aware of that if you're carrying large or heavy luggage. However, it wasn't much of an issue for us as we only had to move our luggage on the first and last day.
The check-in and check-out processes were easy. The owner was very helpful, responsive, and spoke English well.
Considering the location, accessibility, size, and overall experience, we believe we received great value for our money. The price was worth the experience. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kyoto and recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable stay in a safe and quiet neighborhood close to public...
Read moreJitsugiri-san is a friendly, thoughtful, and responsive host. He responds to messages quickly and is a kind person. The unit is clean and homely. I found the bed especially comfortable. The unit also includes — among other items — slippers, umbrellas, and tableware. Laundry machines (washing and drying) are available for free use! The neighborhood is quiet. There’s a shrine a minute away, and one passes through a torii gate on the way home each evening. There’s also a 24/7 konbini nearby. Uzumasa Tenjingawa station is within...

Before we went to Tokyo, we had about 12 hours left in the city, and Yasushi kindly let us keep our luggage safely at the property — which was a huge help!
If I ever come back to Kyoto, I’d definitely stay here again. Highly...
