We stayed 5 nights in Zen Kyoto Apartment hotel's Standard Room.||||Location: 4/5||The hotel located only 5 mins walk from Takeda subway station. And with train, only 10 mins journey to Kyoto's main station. However, the neighborhood is quiet and quite remote. On one hand, it is peaceful and quiet, on another hand its 7 minutes walk away from the big 7-eleven.||||Room: 5/5||Quite huge room and clean. comes with a washer and bathroom has a clothes dryer function which works very well. Bed was very comfortable and its living space was huge enough to have a meal on the lounge table. The only complain was that, the room was dimly lit. and there were not enough hangers to dry our clothes. Also helps if comes with rice cooker. Another complain is that it would help there is a chair near the genkan ( entrance way to take off your shoes). However, this usually not really provided by other Japanese hotels either.||||Breakfast: --/--||We did not experience the breakfast service at this hotel. We opted to buy food from the 7-eleven instead (7-mins walk). But they do have breakfast service at 500 yen per person. ||||Bathroom: 4/5||The bathroom has a clothes drying function which helped us ALOT. The Japanese baths usually comes with a small space for a shower right next to a small bathtub. The bathroom vanity is lower than the waist level. However i find it strange it does not come with a sitting stool to have a sitting shower. The toilet is in a separate room and it is a modern japanese toilet with many functions (also with bum bidet- hmmm soo gooddd!!!).||||Service: 5/5||There are very little service in this hotel. There is only one receptionist on site, and another handyman. However, the receptionist were incredibly helpful and speaks english very well. One disadvantage is that room service is only once a week. They do tell you when and what time is the room service will come and during that time, you will have to be out of the room. ||||OVERALL:||Completely satisfied with our stay in this hotel. Everything was complete and very few minor complains. Will definitely...
Read moreDefinitely my best stay in Japan! I was travelling with friends and we booked two rooms, each with two double beds. The neighbourhood, although very quiet, feels very safe, especially inside the premise. The nearest station (Takeda station) is a subway station which is only a 2 minute walk away. It takes around 15 minutes to get to Kyoto’s busiest area. We were initially met with a luxurious exterior and a building with a sleek design. There was also a koi fish pond inside with added to the serenity. The staff were very accomodating. They allowed us to leave our luggage in the bar area on the side as we had arrived too early to check-in. The staff working at the bar immediately offered us some fresh water which was much appreciated. The staff also kindly moved our luggage into our rooms for us. We were provided with two key cards. The rooms had a very authentic Japanese feel to them, while also being luxurious. There was a toilet separate from the shower/bath tub and powder room. Inside the powder room, there is also a washing machine and dryer. Washing liquid was provided. There was a kitchenette with a sink, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Going further in, there is also a walk in wardrobe which we used to store our luggage. The two double beds are adjacent to each other and they were very comfy! There was a smart TV provided with access to Netflix and other streaming services. One thing we appreciated was the instruction manual which explained in English how to use all of the appliances provided. There was balcony access with a clothes line attached to the railing. What an amazing stay! My friends and I were more...
Read moreThis must be the best hotel I have stayed at so far in my life!||||The prices are great, and the service is excellent. Our room was so spacious, we felt it was almost like a small apartment. We had a small walk-in closet, and a kitchen equipped with a fridge and a microwave. The bathroom amenities lacked nothing, and you can use the washing machine as you like! The internet was fast, and the beds were super comfortable.||||It is, however, far from the city centre and in a industrial-ish area which very few to no restaurants or shops. However, the train station is a 5 minute walk away and from there you can get to anywhere your heart desires :D||||I've heard they don't clean the rooms often and that they replace the towels every 5 days, but I don't know if that's true. In any case, you have the washing...
