Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Okinawa, Aquasense Hotel offers breathtaking views of the ocean that immediately capture your attention. The hotel is designed to provide guests with a luxurious and relaxing experience, and upon arrival, it’s clear that they have succeeded in many aspects. The stunning sea view from the rooms is nothing short of spectacular, creating an idyllic backdrop that enhances the entire stay.
One of the foremost highlights of Aquasense Hotel is undoubtedly the view. Each room features expansive windows that frame the sparkling blue waters of the ocean. Waking up to such a magnificent sight is a true pleasure. The colors of the sea change throughout the day, offering a dynamic canvas that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your room or the private balcony. Whether it’s the soft hues of sunrise or the vibrant tones of sunset, the view is consistently mesmerizing.
The accommodations themselves are equally impressive. The rooms are massive, providing ample space to unwind after a day of exploring. Comfortable furnishings and modern amenities contribute to a sense of luxury that makes you feel at home. The design is both elegant and functional, with thoughtful touches that enhance the overall experience. After a long day of sightseeing or lounging by the pool, returning to such a spacious and inviting environment is a delight.
While the hotel excels in many areas, my experience with the staff was a bit mixed. On one hand, the team was generally friendly and welcoming; however, there were noticeable lapses in service that detracted from the overall experience. For instance, when we attempted to book a restaurant, the staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to assist effectively. This was disappointing, especially considering that Aquasense positions itself as a high-end establishment.
Another issue arose when we called to request room cleaning in the early morning. We were assured that someone would come to assist us, but unfortunately, that did not happen. It’s surprising to encounter such oversights in a hotel of this caliber, where high service levels are expected. These instances left us feeling a bit neglected, which was unexpected given the hotel’s reputation.
Despite the service hiccups, my overall impression of Aquasense Hotel remains positive. The stunning views, spacious accommodations, and incredible pool area significantly enhance the experience. The hotel's design and amenities are well thought out, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages relaxation.
The combination of luxury and comfort is palpable, making it an excellent choice for travelers looking to enjoy the beauty of Okinawa. While the service could use some refinement, the hotel’s strengths more than compensate for these shortcomings. With the right attention to detail, Aquasense has the potential to elevate its service to match the quality of its facilities.
In conclusion, I would rate Aquasense Hotel a solid 3.5 out of 5. The breathtaking views, massive rooms, and epic pool are standout features that make the stay worthwhile. However, the areas where service fell short prevent it from achieving a perfect score. If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway in Okinawa, Aquasense Hotel is definitely worth considering. With a little improvement in service, it could easily become a top choice for...
Read moreA total disappointment and a costly letdown at Aquasense Hotel
We paid almost 50,000 JPY per night for what I expected to be a luxury experience, but Aquasense Hotel delivered nothing close to that standard. Here is what we endured:
Room and view Check-in: arrived in the evening to a first-floor room with barely any ocean view. Condition: the room smelled strongly of feet, which staff described as “the room’s aroma.” Resolution: we requested a different room. We were told all upper-floor rooms were full and offered to relocate in two hours to a room with no view and a twin bed instead of a double. This is unacceptable for a hotel charging premium rates and suggests poor housekeeping and misrepresentation of room conditions.
Staff attitude and bias Throughout our stay, it was evident that staff treated foreigners differently. They did not greet or acknowledge non-Japanese guests with the same courtesy extended to Japanese guests. This isn’t just poor service; it’s discriminatory and alarming for a hotel operating in a global tourism market.
Breakfast seating experience On both mornings, we arrived at the restaurant very early with only a handful of guests present. Despite being near the start of service, we were seated at a table furthest from the food, while Japanese guests were seated right next to the buffet. This happened twice in a row, indicating it was not a one-off misstep but a recurring racist pattern influencing our breakfast experience.
Check-out policy Check-out time is 11:00, which is understandable on busy days, but on a night when the hotel was far from full, we asked for a 12:00 checkout. The staff insisted we would incur a 6,000 JPY charge even for a 11:30 checkout. A late checkout fee this aggressive, especially without full occupancy justification, is unreasonable and serves as a predatory practice.
Breakfast mismanagement On the second day, they failed to issue our breakfast tickets. When we attempted to use the breakfast area, staff demanded payment for something we had already paid for. The oversight plus the staff’s impatience made a bad situation worse and reflected poorly on overall operations.
Outdoor sauna policy The outdoor sauna, advertised as open until 9 PM, was abruptly closed at 6 PM claiming no staff would be present. There was no clear notice about a required two-hour consecutive booking, and staff suggested this was the only way to use the facility—at a prohibitive price. A resort-style amenity should be accessible, not gatekept and misrepresented.
Overall assessment Our experience at Aquasense Hotel was deeply disappointing and not near the luxury standard suggested by the price tag. The combination of subpar room conditions, apparent discriminatory service, inexplicable extra charges, and mismanaged amenities makes us question the value and integrity of your establishment. If you’re seeking a high-end, welcoming, and transparent hotel experience, this is not it.
TLDR: if you aren’t Japanese,...
Read moreLOOKING FOR CHILDREN-FRIENDLY HOTEL? !!!!This is NOT the one!!!!
We are a family of 9 travelling from Canada and Hong Kong, I made a reservation of 3 deluxe rooms and we had 6 adults, 2 children age 8 and 12 and an infant for early August.
I googled a few kids-friendly hotels and decided to go with AQUASENSE. At the concierge, I was told that my children, that are age 8 and 12, were considered as adults and I should book ONE MORE ROOM to fulfill their maximum capacity for each room (which is 2 adults at max). We asked if we can pay extra for rollaway beds or any possible ways to keep my children in the same room with me and my sister, they said NO.
I am a single mum travelling with my minors (who they consider them as adults), I was telling them that my room will be having “3 adults” even if I get one more room to satisfy their requirement. They said that ME TRAVELLING WITH 2 MINORS IS MY OWN PROBLEM, as long as I booked one more room, we can switch between the rooms however we want.
While I had 2 of the rooms checked in, settled the kids and the grandparents in, me and my sister had been negotiating for an hour at the reception, to the point that I was told that my whole booking will be cancelled if I’m not getting one more room right now. It’s basically either to book one more room or my whole family will get kicked out.
I ended up having to BOOK A ROOM AT SIGHT JUST TO FULFILL their requirement, we did not even go into that room at all. They were very protective to themselves on this matter, they explained to us that this extra room is a ROOM-ONLY, no amenities no cleaning service and made us sign an acknowledgement, which is fine because I made it very clear that I was not planning to use that room at all.
That being said, I still had “4 ADULTS” staying in the same room, and they didn’t say anything about our overcrowded room ever since we purchased another vacant room just to satisfy them, how ridiculous.
I don’t even know what to say about this hotel. The service was horrible (I will explain on another review) The manager was in the room the whole time when this happened, I demanded to talk to the manager myself and he WOULDN’T come out, and when he came out he had a glance on me crying and went back into his office as if nothing...
