I am very happy with my stay at Berghaus. The ski-in ski-out location is so convenient. And, you can rent the ski equipment directly from the hotel. Remember to buy discounted lift tickets from the hotel. It saves you quite a bit if you plan to ski for a few days. I love the spacious room with the view of the slope. Bed is very big and comfortable. The in-house onsen though small is adequate. There is also a spa with a very good masseur. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. We booked half board, and the weakest area of Berghaus is the food. The buffet breakfast spread is a little short, boring and stays same. For dinner, there is only 3 sets of menu, which means if you stay 4 nights or more, it gets repeated. I wish it has a more interesting kitchen and that would make this place perfect. I paid ¥25,920/night for 2ppl half board. Ski rental ¥2,700/ whole day. Lift ticket at the reception is ¥4,500 instead of ¥5,100 at the...
Read moreMy only complaint is that you've to walk quite a bit upslope to reach the hotel, not easy if you've some luggages. Although a hotel car can be arranged for pick up from the bus stop at the bottom of the hill, it's not available at all time as only a selected few of the staffs can drive the car. Otherwise it's a good comfortable hotel with good sized rooms and nice breakfast. It's a ski in/out hotel beside the slope and you can store your ski equipment at the hotel basement.
The room prices are on the high side though. However I appreciate the hotel for their great honesty. I've booked a room for 3 adults so although in fact my group is 2 adults and 1 child. They cancel and refund my original booking and charged me a reduced fee as the child is charged half compared to an adult. There's only one hotel staff who can speak English fluently and so communication might be a bit of a problem but the staffs...
Read moreGreat place to stay right on a ski run with ski in facilities.. It’s also quite close to bars and restaurants. The only issue is the hotel advertises that all rooms have bathrooms - but that is not the case. A number of rooms don’t have a bath or a shower! We didn’t have one which came a real surprise and had to book a private bathroom three floors down for each morning. If you stay at this hotel make sure you book a room with a shower! In this day and age not having a shower in all rooms is really not three or even two star...
