グリーンロッジ佐世保 / Green Lodge Sasebo — Hotel in Sasebo

I stayed at Green Lodge a year ago, before they were on Google Maps. As soon as I arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly; the manager, Mr. McAllister, even picked me up from the train station with my luggage. The room was spacious, compared to other local hotels. Room accomodations included an approximately queen-size bed, desk and desk chair, entertainment center with flat-screen TV, a little kitchenette area with microwave, a full Japanese-size fridge, some shelving, a closet, and bathroom. Everything was extremely comfortable. There was also a free laundry room with washers and dryers. The restaurant downstairs featured excellent food, and both breakfast and dinner were included for free with the room. I was working on the base nearby, and bento boxes were delivered to my workplace at noon, also complementary at the time - not sure if their policy has changed since. In addition to the already excellent accomodations, Mr. McAllister was incredibly helpful during my stay. He provided a driving tour of Sasebo to see the sights and get pictures of the cherry blossoms, and also out to Nagasaki where he helped me buy a wedding gift for friends back home. He and the other staff also provided rides to work when the weather was bad, and offered to pick us up in the afternoons (though the walk was short enough that we typically made our own way home after work). Lastly, when my stay was over, Mr. McAllister personally drove me the entire two hours to Fukuoka Airport. I truly cannot express how grateful I was for the exceptional service during my stay. It was sincerely the best treatment I'd ever received at a hotel. Next time I stay in Sasebo, my immediate choice is to stay at Green Lodge again, and I hope it's...

Spent a month here and they made it feel like home. Simple, clean, a 10 minute walk to the Navy base with a free morning shuttle and outstanding restaurants right across the street. Laundry was free and detergent was provided right down the hall from my room. A 10 minute walk to shopping, train and bus station. Complimentary breakfast during the work week. Great hospitality and service. The owners go a step above to ensure a level of service you won't find anywhere else. They cater to Americans who are working on base. They provide a great breakfast as well as shuttles to and from the base. Location is nearby lots of great restaurants as well as the train stations. Will be my go-to for any return...
