Hotel Kawakyu — Hotel in Shirahama

The hotel looks grand on the surface but old inside. The hotel carpet looks terrible and the slippers provided are one of the worst. The study room in the corner with curtains cover is scary. The long cirridor, the castle look and old facilities makes me feel like The Kindaichi Case Files. The toilet cover does not work. It closes lid automatically after it was opened. With the old furnitures and the opened and close washroom lid freaked me out. I walked with my friend to onsen late at night via the long and kowai corridor. We suddenly realized there was someone walking behind us. He is probably another customer. The atmosphere of the hotel is kowai. The onsen spa is very good and the external one is okay. Dinner is a disappointment and food/fish do not really taste fresh. The best food in dinner is Kobe beef. Breakfast is good. 部屋...

This is the first time to stay here. |The hotel location is fine. The hotel itself stands alone surrounded by own walls. This separate the hotel from the reality around areas. As a matter of fact, the hotel does not match the areas’ atmosphere at all. Anyway, the hotel itself is great to stay in particular the size of the room. The room I stayed is the standard, but great view of the ocean from the big window and 2 TVs, the completely separated bathroom and toilet. The bed room can be separated by using sliding doors.
