This hotel is roughly a 5 minute walk from the train station. You can literally see the hotel from certain platforms in the station. From my room, if the window opened, I could just jump out, run across 2 tracks and climb a platform and be at the station.
Given the proximity you are likely wondering if you can hear the sounds of the station. The answer, for the most part, is no. I have heard one horn but it was not enough to not hear the TV and would not have woken me if I were asleep.
The breakfast buffet, optional add on to your stay, is a Japanese take on the Western buffet with Japanese dishes along side more traditionally Western dishes. Refreshing to have rice with breakfast.
The sticking point for some will be room size. The room is, as is the norm for Tokyo, tiny. I have a suitcase that is enormous given I have 2 weeks of travel and wanted space for souvenirs, etc. I hate it but the only way to open it is to put it on the bed. I pulled all my clothes for the next three days to avoid needing to get into it until I pack. For larger sized guests or for more than one guest you will have some creative climbing and arrangements to make.
Be aware they are very strict about 3 PM check in. This generally isn't an issue as they have bad storage services for free, but if you're going to get into the room really, this is likely not the hotel for you.
The bathroom in my room was ok, but again, tiny. The shower, however, hits well above it's weight class. The issue from the shower, at moderate spigot settings, was overpowering. I think you could blast concrete with this thing. And be sure to keep everything that could be ruined by water out of the bathroom. I'm not kidding, the first time I used the shower I thought I was washing the far side of the bathroom. The curtain doesn't stand a chance at holding the water back at moderate level.
Overall not a bad place to stay for the price as long as you don't mind...
Read moreBooked 2 smoking rooms at this hotel for a vacation with my 3 other friends. Made several communications through email, the staffs are responsive and clear in explaining.||||Arrived at the hotel around 9 PM, the front office staffs did all the work quickly so we could rest early. The hotel locations just right next small stations, but the line is connected to the major part of the city (Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Shibuya). The neighborhood of this hotel is housing area, so when the night falls, this area is very quiet, which we really love it after all the hustle and bustle of the city. There's a park nearby, a good place to hang out and have supper from mcdonald's or food from the convenience store. ||||The hotel room itself is very small, just like other hotel rooms in Tokyo. The hotel is a bit old-ish. In overall the room is very clean, the bathroom is also clean and the amenities are complete. Love all the detail they put. Wi-fi connections are fast, but there were some kinks when new customers are coming. It seems the new customers are hogging the bandwidth so it made the connections a bit unstable. But overall I like this hotel, a good base for...
