Fantastic stay at Da Haus Shinjuku!
We travelled as a family of three and it was perfect for us.
Location So conveniently located between two stations - Shin Okubo and Okubo station. These two stations are a 2 minute walk away from the hotel and will take you anywhere in Tokyo. In the middle of Korea town with heaps of restaurants and shops around. If you’re into K-pop, this is the area for you!
The hotel itself is off a side street away from the main activity and very quiet so we had no issues at all at night. Convenient stores (7-11, Family Mart) all close by with Don Quijote across the road. Within walking distance of Shinjuku main areas but not smack in the middle of it all. It took us 10 minutes to walk back to the hotel from Shinjuku’s Golden Gai. Could not be happier with this location!
Hotel Hotel itself seems to be brand new (2023 maybe). Check-in was super easy, all done via tablet in 1 minute as you provide your details beforehand. We landed late at night so it was great to have a hassle free check-in.
The room (like most of Tokyo hotels) itself is quite small but very cleverly designed. Family of three with 13-year old and each had our own beds. Could very comfortably fit a family of 4. The room has a small kitchenette with bowls, plates etc. Bathroom is great, good water pressure and even has a small tub that would be good for families travelling with younger kids. Washing machine in bathroom is such a great addition, so handy to have clean clothes when travelling. Amenities also provided. As we travelled light, we only had one suitcase and a backpacker type backpack so had no problems with suitcase space although those with multiple bags/ suitcases might struggle slightly.
Service/ Staff I booked via Airbnb and the team was great. Super responsive and accommodating. Always responded within 5-10 minutes. We requested for a couple of things which the team accommodated instantly. Very comprehensive and easy to follow instructions and tips. 5 star service from Da Haus team.

Read moreMy family & I really loved our stay in Da Haus in our recent trip to Tokyo! There are so many plus factors in this hotel that we will definitely be back should we visit Tokyo anytime. The following are some of your 5* attributes.

I’m so glad I found this accommodation on Instagram. This was my fourth time in Tokyo, and this stay was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had. After staying for four days, we headed to Mt. Fuji for climbing and were fortunate enough to witness the sunrise. I booked the accommodation through Airbnb, but since I don’t use Airbnb often, I missed the opportunity to leave comment. However, I sincerely recommend Da Hus Hotel.
Firstly, the staff were very polite and welcoming. Since they needed to scan our passports, they kindly allowed us to do it at the hotel. Unfortunately, we arrived after their working hours, but the front desk staff were still very friendly, introducing us to the hotel and chatting with us. Secondly, the rooms were very clean and modern, with enough space to open our luggage. We stayed in two double rooms, each equipped with a refrigerator, an induction cooktop, and a kettle. There’s also a coin-operated laundry on the first floor. The rooms were filled with sunlight, and the shampoo and conditioner provided were excellent (as someone who really cares about conditioner, I didn’t even use my own). Thirdly, the location is quite convenient, with two JR stations nearby—Shin-Okubo Station (Yamanote Line) and Okubo Station (Chuo Main Line). If you have large luggage, it’s easier to use Shin-Okubo Station, which has only one exit with an elevator. Okubo Station has escalators and elevators at the North Exit, but you’ll need to carry your luggage up a few small steps. If you’re not carrying luggage, it’s just a 2-3 minute walk from the South Exit. Fourthly, the surrounding area seems to have many stores run by Southeast Asian people, but it didn’t affect the safety at all. There’s a Don Quijote and several convenience stores nearby, and since it’s close to Shinjuku, shopping is also convenient. Fifthly, they provided drip coffee. While offering tea isn’t unusual, they also provided baking paper for packing, which was such a thoughtful touch. It’s available outside for anyone to take. The only slight suggestion I have is that it was a bit inconvenient for ladies to do their makeup. It would be great if there were a makeup mirror on the desk, as the mirrors in the bathroom and near the entrance had spotlights above them, making it hard to see when applying makeup. There wasn’t a mirror near the window where there’s natural light, and the portable mirror I had was quite small. Just a small suggestion, though it doesn’t take away from the overall experience. I’ve written quite a lot, but I hope this review helps...
