Just recently stayed at this hotel for 5 days 4 nights and I honestly couldn't find any faults with the service that was provided. Especially for the money that I paid and it's location!||I made my booking having needed a place to stay that is well priced and closeby to the JR Yamanote Line. ||If you know Tokyo then you know that value priced hotel + close to a major JR line doesn't go hand in hand. But that is what makes Tokyo Plaza Hotel a great gem to find.||Because the hotel is located within a 2 minute walk of Shin-Okubo Station on the JR Yamanote Line and it is within prime location. Close by you've got a Family Mart, a 7-Eleven, Yoshinoya, numerous cheap restaurants and it's also right next door to a 24/7 Don Quijote! ||And as the hotel is located within Shin-Okubo you also have Koreatown right on your door step. Fantastic if you're into K Pop or want to try Korean cuisine and Korean street food. ||And as for the rest of Tokyo. The Yamanote Line will take you to the major places within Tokyo such as Shibuya, Harajuku, Tokyo Imperial Palace, Akihabara etc. And 1 stop on the Yamanote Line from Shin Okubo Station you have Shinjuku Station which is one of Japan's busiest and most important train stations. ||||That's the location part of the review done. Now onto the room itself and the customer service.||Before my arrival, I had the risk of getting to the hotel past midnight, I wanted to confirm that my room would be secured even on late arrival. Therefore I emailed the hotel and they replied back within 10 minutes to say that my room would be secured even after the check in cut off time that was stated on Expedia. ||As for on check in. I arrived at the hotel and was greeted in a friendly manner and informed of all the basics. Then I made my way up to the room which was clean, and spacious by Tokyo standards and had everything that you needed. A comfortable bed, refrigerator, tv (that also had BBC World services), kettle, shower toiletries, toothbrush etc. ||||So overall if you're in the need of a well priced hotel in prime location Tokyo and aren't wanting to fork out a lot of money, then Tokyo Plaza Hotel is a great place to stay!||Would I stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo? I most certainly would...

Read moreThis was my third time staying at this hotel, a small-scale property with only six floors. The main reasons I choose this hotel are its reasonable room rates and its prime location. It is just one station away from JR Shinjuku Station and a 5-minute walk to JR Shin-Okubo Station on the JR Yamanote Line. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of eateries, cafes, convenience stores (Lawson, 7-Eleven, Family Mart and Aeon), and pharmacies. There's also a small Don Donki store next to the hotel, open 24 hours for leisurely shopping. Kabukicho and Shinjuku areas are within walking distance as well.||The check-in process is quick and straightforward but getting to the tiny front desk is a bit of a hassle. To check in, you have to carry your luggage up around 20 steps as there is no escalator. The hotel lift is very small and can only accommodate two people with two pieces of luggage at a time.||We booked a twin room for 5 nights. The room size was adequate for two people with medium-sized luggage but it felt a bit outdated. The room still uses a traditional key to open and lock the door. As expected, the bathroom was very small and equipped with basic amenities. The Wi-Fi in the room was weak, making browsing difficult.||The hotel has a small café/restaurant that serves a simple breakfast set, not a buffet. This was one of the reasons we decided not to try it. One thing that disappointed me was the early check-out time of 10:00 AM which I think is too early. I believe the hotel should consider extending the check-out time to 11:00 AM or 12:00 noon for guests' convenience.||Overall, this is a decent, simple, small-scale hotel with a...
