The location is good, and so are the amenities.
For this review, I shall focus more on the amenities within the accommodation itself.
Bedroom
The bedroom is of good size! 4 beds cleverly separated by a shelf provides some privacy. The rest of the space is ideal for 4 to 5 luggage, especially important for shoppers like us.
The 2 aircon provides sufficient heating/ cooling whenever necessary.
The small ward robe is good enough, and 6 hangers were provided. Best of all, there is a portable hanging rack that can be used for wet bathing towels. Very considerate.
There are 3 main power points provided, so 4 of us need not fight over them, given that each of us has at least 2 devices each.
The beds are comfortable, and the bed sheets are clean. Quilt blankets kept us warm, and again, the best thing is 2 pillows are provided for each of us! Love this!!!
The balcony is accessible and can be used to keep bulky stuff. But there is no shelter from the natural element, so please take note.
Toilet
The toilet is separated into the shower area and WC area. But the access is common so both can not be used at the same time.
The shower area has the best heater, so I didn't feel cold after stepping out of the hot shower. There is a small hanging rack for my towel.
Hot water is consistent, too. Body shower foam and shampoo are provided! So are towels and hand towels! Slippers, toothbrush/ paste, and hair dryer are provided and fully functional.
WC may not be Toto brand, but it has every function needed, including air drying your bottom after washing 😀 Another good thing is there is a row of hanging hooks for towels and changing clothes. Another plus point.
All sliding doors have soft close, so you won't bang the doors shut.
Dining table is big with a cushioned bench and 2 cushioned chairs. Tv and Shelf is conveniently placed near the dining area for allow for easy access. It helps that the heater is above the dining area too.
The kitchenette is very well stock up too. It has everything you need. Perhaps Domo can provide a dish drying rack and a new washing sponge. Fridge is of good size.
Overall, this is probably to best Airbnb, functional wise, I have stayed...
Read moreMy family stayed here during our 8-day trip in Tokyo. The location is excellent. We were very close to two train stations, only around the corners of either. The neighborhood is quiet and the building has an elevator, which was very important to us as one of us walks with a stick.
Areas of improvement:
my unit did not have a sofa or a working desk as shown in the picture, which was disappointing. A sofa would’ve been nice to relax. I would’ve needed a desk if I had to do some work (lucky I didn’t for this trip).
our unit had 4 beds. Only 1 was a real bed, whereas the other 3 were basically two stools parked together with a sleeping mat placed on top. They were still comfortable but a bit too low, could be inconvenient for elders.
it would’ve been nice if there were more electric outlets, especially around each bed. Only one bed was next to an electric outlet, which one of us had to use as she needed to sleep with a breathing machine. The rest of us weren’t able to charge our phone near our beds at night, which was inconvenient.
the unit can accommodate up to 6 guests. We had 3 guests for our trip. There was only one small closet, which was not sufficient for the 3 of us. I cannot imagine if we had 6 people.
the washroom was very spacious but I feel a lot of the empty space could’ve been used to provide more counter space. We could not leave our personal toiletries inside the washroom.
more hooks around the unit...
My family of four adults had a wonderful time staying in this DoMo flat. A big thank you to the host for arranging the best unit for us—a top-floor corner unit. It was very bright and spotlessly clean when we checked in.
The flat is spacious, with a living room and bedroom separated by a sliding door. The bathroom is also quite large, which is rare in Japan—especially in Tokyo. The air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping us cool during the hot summer days.
It also includes a washing machine, and the shower area has a built-in laundry drying function. You simply hang your clothes in the shower room and set it to dry—perfect for summer travelers like us.
The location is quiet, yet conveniently close to shops, restaurants, and Shin-Okubo Station, which is only a 10–15 minute walk from Shinjuku.
I strongly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again on my next...
