Stayed here for 4 nights and overall had a great time! The location is honestly a win — super walkable from the train station and surrounded by loads of yummy food and fun spots to explore. You definitely won’t go hungry or bored in this area.
One of my favourite little perks was the free self-dispensing coffee machine at the reception — such a game changer! I loved grabbing a hot cup every time we came back from a long day out. The staff were also really lovely — always friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay.
There were a couple of things that could be improved though. The bathroom had a constant wet, musky smell (probably from the shower curtains), which wasn’t the nicest to come back to. And while we were super excited about booking a room with a washer-dryer — thinking we’d save ourselves some laundry hassle — the dryer cycle ended up taking over 3 hours. I ended up stopping it early, but my clothes still came out damp and felt like they hadn’t been properly washed. Gave up and just packed everything home to wash instead.
Still, it was a cozy and convenient stay overall with some really nice touches. Would recommend for the location and vibes, just maybe skip the...
Read moreIt appears that the hotel is converted from a condominum. Located in a residential area with plenty of non-expensive but very busy eaterie There are 2 subway lines near close by so travelling to other parts of Tokyo is easy. No shopping malls and fancy shops around though |Booked a bigger room with washer which is a good idea if staying for more than a couple of days. There is also a induction cooker and few cooking utensils, which means you can cook simple meals such as noodles. There is a public self laundry on the lobby floor which is also open to the public. The charge is much higher than the self laundry you can find in other business hotels. Had problem when using the washing machine first time at around 11PM. Called front desk, and she came up fast to check and explain. Hailed a taxi which stops on the other side of the street upon check out so have to struggle to brigh 4 suitecases plus travel bags across the street. One of the front desk staffs ran out and helped us to move the luggages..|This is a hotel to be considered if looking for a area not flooded with...
Read moreI used this hotel for my last night in Tokyo before flying home. It's my third visit to this hotel. The hotel is a little bit older but the rooms are clean and some rooms have a little balcony overlooking the street which is a plus.
I like the neighborhood of Monzen Nakacho. Not with the flashy neon ads like Shinjuku or Shibuya but more the real Tokyo. There are many good restaurants in the area and there's a temple a block away. The hotel is easy accessible with the Tozai line or the Oedo line when you’re coming from Tokyo station or other parts of Tokyo.
One big letdown this time was the breakfast. The last time I stayed here in 2018 there was a breakfast buffet in a breakfast area next to the lobby. This space has now been reconstructed to a laundry shop. You'll get your breakfast in a basket containing a frozen sandwich and a frozen bowl of soup which you'll have to microwave and eat in your own room. Cost cutting? Lack of hotel staff? Or still in the middle of the Covid pandemic in May 2023?
Save yourself some time and walk 40 meters to the FamilyMart to buy a...
