The rooms are small as in many business class in Japan but this seems even smaller than normal. The staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel has a policy that I haven't seen in many years and was very surprised when I hear it on check-in. They required that all guest leave the key-card at the front desk whenever you go out. Not sure if it's due to a large amount of key-cards go missing but it could be a hassle. ||On google, it looked like a large mall is very close to the hotel and that was one of the major reasons I chose this hotel. Had stayed at a next door hotel last time we were there and that was excellent....it was booked so stayed at route Inn..too be honest this was even better than the previous one. We come to Tomakomai often.....also free Wifi...

Average hotel breakfast. Located right next to the station, but the name is in Japanese only, so bring a picture of the hotel, or ask. The area around is not the best- I had a view of a factory smokestack, smoking at all hours. There are a LOT of closed down businesses throughout town, and it was difficult to find a non-izakaya restaurant open nearby after 7pm. The hotel wifi was next to useless- several minutes to load a page, and then kept dropping the...
