Minshuku Iwakawa — Hotel in Yakushima

Iwakawa seemed to have two different buildings. The first is as pictured on Trip Advisor, the second was more of a large house structure a quick walk away. The location was in an excellent area one block off the main road. ||I stayed in the large house building with a group of friends. We arrived a little before 10 PM on our first night and the staff was very accommodating, helping us find our way and a spot to park our vehicle. The rooms were very clean and a good size. Air conditioning worked well and I liked the fact each room had its own to control. The bathrooms were also clean with all the needed soaps and shampoos. Futon's seemed a bit thin, but I could live with it for a few nights. ||Considering the cost of other lodging in the area, Iwakawa was a great value, excellent location, and friendly staff. Would highly recommend to others traveling...

The place is a great place for any traveller seeking a cheap but fine place to stay for a few nights. It is conviniently placed near a bus stop and it is not so far from the port as well. The rooms are clean and tidy. You can find a simple table, a small TV and most important, an air conditioning unit. The rooms don't have a view onto the sea, but the city view is not bad at all. The place has two separate bathrooms and toilets, one for each floor. The owner is very nice and even though he does not speak english it is possible to communicate with him if you need something. The only possible inconvienience may be the thin walls, putting your peace of mind...
