Wakashio Sushi — Restaurant in Yakushima

Compared to other restaurants around it, the quality and pricing of the fish is definitely not at the same level. That doesn't mean it was bad, but just not as good. Service was average, and the comfort of the seating area was a bit below average (stained cushions, etc). The abalone sushi / sashimi was decent.

One extra note: I love wasabi and can handle it, and there was quite a bit of wasabi in some of the nigiris, masking the flavor of some of the fish...

The sushi was good, with big portion sizes. A little too much wasabi though and some chewie pieces. Inside the restaurant were a few not so friendly locals, murmuring foreigner-insults. Of course, not something the restaurant owner can control...
