What can I say about this homestay style apartment? Firstly if you're heading to Petra stop looking for your accommodation because you've found it. |The flats are contained in Mohammed's family's building. We were welcomed by Mohammed's dad Ahmad outside and directed to a large private parking area behind and to the side of the house. Then we were shown to our apartment. We had been upgraded to the suite as there was a family with children staying who needed their rooms to be close to each other downstairs.|Our suite was upstairs on the 1st floor. |The bed was large and comfy with plenty of snuggly blankets, there was a small lounge, bathroom and kitchen although we didn't need to use it as the family are super hospitable.|Once we were settled Ahmad took us next door into the family home where we met Mohammed's mum Basima, the sweetest lady you could wish to meet.|We were fed so well whilst we were here and Basima is a tremendous cook, lots of Jordanian dishes to try. I highly recommend the fatayer, a type of pasty made from flat bred stuffed with minced lamb, delicious!|When Mohammed came home from work we arranged a tour with him and his brother for the next day on horse back, across the mountains to see petra. Although this tour wasn't cheap it was well worth the price. The brothers know all the best places in petra and Mohammed has a future in photography if he ever wants to give up being a host and guide.|We ate and drank with the family for all of our stay and we learnt so much about jordanian life during our visit, chatting in the evenings in the comfy sitting room, drinking tea and eating yet more delicious food.|If you are arriving at either of the international airports Mohammed can arrange a safe taxi to collect you at a good price. |You will fall in love not only with Petra but with Mohammed and his family whilst you're here it's not just a place to sleep it's a place to...
Read moreI recently had the privilege of staying at a Jordanian family's charming guesthouse and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the family, who immediately made us feel at home.
Jordanian hospitality is legendary and this family was no exception. They not only shared their culture and traditions with us but also treated us like family members. The owners of the inn were extremely attentive and dedicated, always willing to help with any questions or needs we had.
The guesthouse itself was an oasis of tranquility, with clean, comfortable rooms that reflected the authenticity and charm of Jordanian culture. The decor was elegant, with local touches that added a special touch to the atmosphere. Furthermore, the cuisine offered at the inn was delicious, featuring typical dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients.
The location of the inn is also worth highlighting, providing easy access to local attractions and offering stunning views of the region. During our stay, we were treated to magnificent views and were able to explore the natural beauty around us.
Overall, my experience at this Jordanian family guesthouse was truly memorable. I would recommend it without hesitation to any traveler wanting not just a place to rest, but an opportunity to engage with the rich local culture and create lasting memories. I can't wait to go back and relive this...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed for two nights in Petra, Mohammed and his family were truly kind!! The first day we arrived a little bit later and there were no issues for the check in. We had a dinner with the family, his mother cooked many dish foods about Jordanian cuisine whilst his father described us all details and it was and unforgettable experience (paying a minimum extra but trust on me worth it). Respond by WhatsApp is pretty rapid 10/15 min ish, they provide a car park too. The location is 5 minutes far from the site by car and the neighborhood is really silent. In conclusion I am so happy to recommend it to everybody, for me a 10/10. (If you want know more about the experience in Petra ask to Mohammed, he delighted you with all the...
