Whilst helping to repair the fire damaged Abu Dhabi Plaza tower, I made many frequent visits to Kazakhstan, and stayed here often. Rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious, restaurant is reasonable as is the bar and bar meals. All in all, I would recommend this hotel. It's also within walking distance of a shopping mall containing supermarkets, food courts etc. Very handy!!!
All that said, and this is no slur on this hotel. I was often accompanied by others - one of whom was very keen to try bizarre local fare. So we often ate out and it often seemed to be centred on poor quality thinly sliced meat (horse, I guess, or more likely: some geriatric donkey), washed down with ice cold neat vodka. Hic! Hic! We had a meal one evening at this hotel, avoided all the familiar dishes, and, advised by that "keen" person, opted for the sharing plateau of various anemic sliced meats on an equally tepid looking pasta soaked in fatty meat juices. I think it's called, "Beshbarmak". Most of us tried just enough of this local delicacy to avoid insulting the host, Mr Keen. Mr Keen, fluent in Russian, said something to the waiter as the plate was taken away.
Next day, at a meeting at lunchtime, I discovered what had been said last night. Mr Keen had another plate of that stuff, heated up from the day before. I wonder how much it would have been improved by being set to one side, reheated, and not eased down with...

Overall it is a nice venue very similar to the US motels even the outside look reminds of some US road hotels, high standard though ...||The check in was efficient and very welcoming, room was well serviced and nice. Mind that there is no lift. Nice lobby bar and restaurant, on request the offer early breakfast (mine was at 5am). The room is fully stuck with all necessary amenities and toiletries. There is a spa which I did not check though ... ||Few drawbacks are - rooms with the view of a huge construction works ... Room was very hot and the a/c did not help. The bathroom is extremely tight, in fact it is of a size of a shower cabin of quite a few places ) Be careful when taking a shower the water could drip into your room as the drainage is a bit clogged ... ||Overall, great place to spend a night or two if you are on a business trip to Astana, not recommended though if you are on a special occasion or...

: Friendly staff (reception, bar, entrance, handymen), location downtown, close to the river, human building size, calm.
: Safe and coffee machine didn't work in the room. Both were fixed but when I was absent though I asked to be present when they would come / First bedroom was very dark (floor level, builing corner, window in front of a wall) and noisy (crazy dog behind the wall) - They gave me another one, bright and calm after I asked to change. Also internet is capricious.
I would probably come back to this place when I'll be in Nur-Sultan but I would check everything...
