We have just enjoyed two wonderful nights at the Mini-Hotel Sultan, Astana. Upon arrival do not be put off by the metal door to access the building; all buildings have the same door. The building is number 13, the floor is 9 and the hotel is 326. Luckily our prearranged taxi driver was familiar with these numbers and escorted us up to the reception area. There is plenty of hot water and heating, as it does get cold this time of year.||||The next day an older lady presented us with a plate of fresh melon – delicious! There is no breakfast here but there is a fridge and kettle so you could purchase food from the local mini market shop just down from the entrance.||||This hotel is so convenient for all the major sites in Astana; much better located than staying in the old town were a taxi would be the call of day each time you wanted to explore. We were out late into the evening and never felt unsafe as the neighbourhood is very friendly.||||There is a small ramp to the rear of the hotel should you need wheel chair access. Although, it may be a little tight inside the hotel...
