Read moreBefore checking out, I thought this hotel would be one of the highlights of my stay in Astana. But right after leaving, while already at the airport, I received an unpleasant message from a hotel staff member accusing me of taking something from the minibar without paying.
Yes, I did open the minibar once — simply to check what they had — but I never consumed or removed anything. The missing item they claimed I used was something I would never even need. Still, the staff insisted they had “proof” and tried to push the charge on me. I firmly refused to accept blame for something I didn’t do, and only after some back-and-forth did they finally drop the issue.
This completely ruined my overall impression of the stay. It’s shocking to be treated like a thief in a hotel that presents itself as high-end. I truly hope they later found out what really happened — whether it was an employee’s dishonesty or carelessness — but for me, the damage was already done.
For future guests, I strongly recommend taking photos or even a short video of the minibar as soon as you open it for the first time. It’s the only way to protect yourself if the hotel decides to make unfounded accusations. Sure, you could just pay to avoid conflict, but why cover for someone else’s mistake — or worse, bad intentions?
The hotel itself has nice facilities, but this experience overshadowed everything. I might stay at other properties in this chain, but in Astana? I’m no...
Read moreThis hotel was extremely expensive—around $500 per night and we stayed here for 2 nights, totaling $1000 but unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy our stay. Despite the room being quite large, the space was poorly utilized. I stayed with my husband and two kids, but there was only one king-sized bed, leaving no proper sleeping arrangement for the kids. We all ended up crammed into the same bed, which was very uncomfortable. They added a little rollaway bed, but it was uncomfortable and my kids refused to sleep on it.
Strangely, the room included a cabinet setup meant for business meetings, which we had no use for. It felt like wasted space that could have been better used for sleeping arrangements or relaxation.
The furniture and overall decor felt outdated. The TV didn’t work properly—likely due to internet issues, as it kept freezing—and even the thermostats were old and difficult to use.
The breakfast buffet was just okay. While there was plenty of food, there wasn’t much that was actually appealing. It would’ve been better if there were clearly designated sections—for example, one for yogurt, another for smoked salmon, fresh bread, and cream cheese. The chia pudding was overly sweet and not enjoyable.
The service was the only positive aspect of the hotel — and it was truly exceptional.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience and would never come back...
