The hotel charged me twice the total amount of my lodging on my credit card. I stayed there for 3 weeks while doing volunteer work. I stayed at this hotel only because it was close to kibera slum. Because I stayed a long time, I had a great loss of money. I tried to contact the management for 4 months to get my money back, but they replied only 2 times saying they wrote down my complaint but did nothing. I tried to talk to manager Anne Rewa and found out that she was fired, I tried to contact Sarah Machungo, the other manager who also ignored my messages, handed the responsibility to Benard Kondi who did not give an answer at all. The hotel is very poorly managed and the people in charge have no professionalism and they do not make a point of keeping their customers. The hotel suffers from power outages, lack of water, mosquitoes and there is no supermarket and nothing of the kind nearby . However, I have to make it clear that cleaning professionals and waiters have always been very nice. Because I stayed at this hotel for a long time, I made friends there. The management came to me and forbade them to talk to me. I realized a hierarchy in this inhumane hotel that humiliates the poorest people with lower positions. If you are looking for a hotel in Nairobi, avoid the Hadassah and its dishonest management. I've traveled the world, you can check my hotel history, I've never had...
Read moreTo be fair, I had just spent over two months camping around Africa, but this place exceeded all my expectations. Large room, clean linen, comfy bed with four poster mosquito netting, massive bathroom with hot water, and a telly. I could go on and yes, there is a chance my judgement could have just been a bit skewed! Saying that, the room was clean and nicely furnished, staff were friendly but a bit on African time, nothing wrong with that though. Breakfast was a help yourself job and plentiful. Location wise - I just booked it as I was getting the shuttle to Tanzania which left from around the corner, so totally met my needs. Seemed like a nice part of town though. I think I must have been missing something when reading some of the other reviews. I would stay again for sure if I needed somewhere in that...
Read moreI chose this hotel because I had a list of three that I emailed some questions to and this was the only one that answered me.||The rooms are kept clean and the staff is always there for anything you need. I had an issue with the safe at check in and they took care of it in a very reasonable time frame.||They arranged a great safari tour for me & the food is pretty good as well (to be fair, I'm not certain African cuisine is really my thing).||This is an older hotel so it is certainly not perfect, but any issue that arises the staff is right there to help you out.||The construction is a bit noisy at the moment, but I trust that will finish up in the next few months. The hospital is directly across the street, so you hear the ambulances during the day, but I don't recall hearing...
