Java Hurlingham is an airy space, not too noisy, and well spaced out. I passed by on Monday to share a meal with my friends and catch up.
The order
My friend and I first ordered the green smoothie (made from a blend of spinach, banana, mango, celery and ginger) as we waited for another friend to join us. The smoothie, I must say, was not tasty at all. You can however order it if you're looking for a non-dairy option.
The three of us wanted to have the 1/4 chicken and chips for lunch, but we were disappointed as the chicken was not available. The manager told us that they had ran out of chicken after numerous orders and that was around 2:30 pm (It's therefore wise to arrive early if you wish to order this).
We however enquired from one of the waiters a few minutes later and they mentioned only one portion had remained and we opted to let one of us have it. I had the masala chips instead while my other friend had the mushroom chips.
After our meals we had the chocolate fudge cake as dessert.
Portions
Their portions have significantly decreased probably owing to the rising cost of products. What used to be served in a big plate is served a smaller plate and one doesn't get full even when coupled with a drink.
The 1/4 chicken and chips order was the most disappointing one as the chicken piece we received was really butchered and the chips were countable.
The cake sizes have not changed and neither has the taste.
Overall experience
Java services are either a hit or miss and recently the latter is what has become the norm. I would advise anyone to consider Java if there aren't any better options around or if you wish to have a basic drink because their meals are really...

A critical safety concern to me is the fact that a petrol service station is attached to its premises, though highly and professionally kept, but then, this calls for specific fire safety attention all the time.
But then, the safety standards already in place by the operators of the petrol station, Shell is of excellent standard.
The environment is conducive. It has parking space. It has public restrooms/washrooms/conveniences. It has wheelchair access Space.

ย ย ย Read moreI visited Java Hurlingham for breakfast yesterday (26/08) morning with my daughter after picking her from school for midterm. Our breakfast order took too long and I had to make 2 reminders after service time had already passed (were told to wait for 10 minutes initially). The Manager was not too bothered when I reported to him. The crowding at the counter point where the food was being placed being dispatch to sitted customers was also NOT interesting and the management allowed one customer to stand right infront of food that was awaiting distribution to the tables yet the customer had no face mask. Reporting that to the manager made no difference, the manager only pretended to walk to the customer but never demanded that he wears his face mask, a little careless with the corona virus all around us!! I did not enjoy my...
