The hostel is surrounded by a nice garden. The setting is quiet.||Beds are comfortable (mosquito nets have no holes). Hot shower was OK.||Staff was not rude and correctly explained the rules.||||No Wifi in the room (the lady in charge told me the reason is, they want guests to socialize in the common area).||||You have to buy drinking water in the bar (it is not included in the price). I told the staff member who checked me in, I had walked 3 hours with my backpack through the slum close to the hostel due to Googlemaps misleading routing, but she did not even offer me a glass of water.||||Extension to connect European plug to their power outlet is only available at a price: 2 USD||Breakfast costs 5 USD!!!||||There are many rules. For me it is obvious you do not take somebody else's belongings, why put that on a notice. The effect it had on me, was I felt rather insecure about leaving anything in the fridge or outside a locker.||||The location on the margins of Lavington close to Kangware slum is not convenient. You would have to take Uber or Bolt to reach the city the cost of which adds up, if you would have to do that every day. In the direct vicinity is there is not much to do. The nearest supermarket is 1.5 km away (3 km return), but you have to walk there along an unpleasant road with lots of traffic.||||I left the next morning to return to Jabulani hostel...

Ok, they did not look clean but i thought so long as they are clean, maybe they look dirty because they are old. Believe me I am not fussy but the beddings smelled like someone else just got out of that bed.||The toilet leaked constantly so whenever i walked in the toilet, i was stepping in a pool of water. When I wanted to shower, my Nigerian neighbor told me there is no hot water. So I gave up on that too.||The place had no generator so when the power goes out I lost contact with the outside world as wifi was also gone. ||There was a sweet lady who was trying to help when I have a question. I was there only for sleeping at night on my used bedsheet. Other than that i did not use the facilities. ||I will not stay...
Read moreDecently safe location but vibes of the hostel are TOP-NOTCH!👌There are many common areas for people to talk and get to know each other. There is a kitchen with many appliances to cook your own meals, though there are many small street food stand around as well. Daniel is a phenomenal host and can help with anything you need. Eunice and Ali were also incredible and I would highly recommend this hostel for anyone coming to Nairobi. The WiFi works well so it’s not a problem if you work...
