Noliktava No 5 — Hotel in Kuldīga

Arriving on a day with lots of traffic, we had a hard time finding the hotel, or a spot to park while checking in at the Goldingen Room. When we finally did, things worked out. The young woman working, wasn't very helpful or friendly, however, she eventually warmed up to us, since we stayed for a few days and had breakfast (included in the price) there daily. The hotel was quirky. Hemingway quotes on the walls throughout, and books everywhere. The bathroom was clean and modern. Books, antique Russian newspapers in stacks provided decor in the sitting area upon entering the ground floor, where there is a living room with couch, stereo, refrigerator, sink, even a telescope! The room on the second floor that we stayed in had shutters on the windows, which blocked out the light. However, every morning we were awakened by a barking dog chained up nearby. On the day of our early departure, we asked for breakfast early, so they packed a boxed breakfast for us and delivered it to our room the night before. The box even included bottled water. The check in is done at nearby restaurant. The accommodation complex is very carefully designed. There is a shared area at the ground floor and one at the first floor. The room is very nice, comfortable bed. Breakfast is served in very nice restaurant. The ladies at the restaurant are very kind. Maybe to consider, so many old books in the room can be difficult for smells and allergies. Also, it was not clear that they have parking and we can try it out and we did not receive any other advice, so we parked a bit far and then saw 2 free places. Breakfast at 9 was late for...

It's small, but every detail was thought through in the design from the vintage vinyl players to Maison Margiela Replica toiletries. There is a separate kitchen and living room for all the guests and a chess/library area. Restaurant was really nice as well. I would recommend for lovers of modern loft design.||||As for the downsides, check-in was in the hotel's accompanying restaurant. Only 2min from the hotel, but still made the process a bit awkward.
