Borneo Royale Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

I had a really interesting and dramatic stay in this gorgeous hotel during my transit to Sipadan for diving. There was nobody greeting no one at the front entrance, we had to carry our luggages up that long stairs into the lobby by ourselves. When I opened the door to my room, I could feel the humidity was at least 120%. Most people would dig out the slippers when they first entered the room which I was of no exception. But prob bcoz of cultural differences, slippers weren’t provided in this hotel despite the fact that the carpet really look less than clean. Fine, I can accept. Once I settled down I tried to look for the TV remote which again no where to be found. Fine, I still can accept that. So let’s go for the buttons, voila! Right besides the TV. I powered on the TV and got a blank screen. The channel button seems to like doing its own thing, channels started to appear in random order and yet none of them shows up any pictures. Finally got a channel showing football, Great! Then as I try to turn up the volume by pressing the vol button (which is obvious) the TV switched off!!!!!!!! Ok, FINE, maybe the TV thinks it’s a bit too late to watch TV so decided to go to sleep! Then I wanna brush my teeth before going to sleep. But to my surprise, no toothbrush was found. So I tried to call the reception for it, but the phone was silent and as I pulled the phone closer to me to check on the phone, the whole thing actually jumping off the table as it’s not even attached to the wall and there’s a broken wire on its back! So I finally admitted to myself this is not my day and switched off the lights. Throughout the night, I could hear every single car passing by the hotel, the surround sound was so good so much I thought I was camping next to the road in front of the hotel. In the morning, I went downstairs trying to ask for a toothbrush, but the receptionist said in a calm voice to me, ‘sorry sir! We do not have any left in the hotel, not even in the VC SUITE!’ WTF! REALLY? Am I actually in a comedy movie or what???????? You think that’s the end of it, no way! I told my group about the story as we were about to leave the hotel, one of my friends went up to the reception and ask ANOTHER receptionist, within seconds she came back with 2 toothbrushes!!!!!!!!!!! Finally, I wanna use the toilet before my kong trip home, I heardans felt a cracking noise as I sat down onto the toilet seat, the toilet seat broke into half!!!! The only happiest thing happened to me during this stay was the checking out which was quick and smooth. I’m so glad that I finally could wake up from my nightmare. WORST HOTEL EVER

I bathed and washed my hair and couldn’t find hair dryer. I called hotel service to ask for hairdryer ,they said on top of tissue box inside toilet there should be one , but THERE IS NO HAIRDRYER and only few wires as shown in photo.

Then i requested for any normal plug-in hair dryer or whatever normal spare hairdryer just to dry my hair within 10 minutes before sleep, they replied that they have no extra hairdryer for me and told me they had this kind of cases before , I asked them how they solved the cases like this, they just replied: KURANG PASTI

I told them i want to file a complaint and the receptionist said “ok miss” , THATS ALL, no “sorry” from them.

SUDDENLY 10-20 minutes later they sent their engineer come to knock my door n come to pasang hairdryer . ( they didnt inform me earlier in call that they found one EXTRA HAIRDRYER before the engineer entering my room)

In the end, what i got is the PLUG-IN hairdryer, not even the BUILD-IN hairdryer. ( as shown in photo) Im ok for both hairdryer coz i just want to dry my hair i dont care which kind of hairdryer.

BUT THE POINT IS, at first i already requested for normal plug-in hairdryer then they said they don’t have extra normal plug-in hairdryer.

Tapi in the end i received the PLUG-in hairdryer right after i said i want to make a complaint.

I appreciated that they finally gaveme the EXTRA hairdryer anyways, but their service is seriously DOWN. ( as i need to argue with them for a LONG TIME just to get a hairdryer)

So , is that they only do their job when they hear customers want to file a complaint?

Plus, the toilet walls, glass, table and floor are very dirty and old ; the carpet in room has stains everywhere.

The toilet bowl has water kept running and made noises the whole night
