November 12th. The Palm, I’ll say it’s the most beautiful designed restaurant in Tawau. And service wise was excellent but just has some improvement about the restaurant acknowledgement whether about the dessert they had or regarding the situation on the tables. And plastic cover on the table is hideous. Other than that, the menu itself is interesting for Tawau and drinks are wonderful but just one piece of advice, remove the “Truffle” from the Truffle fries, it’s just a normal fries, there’s no taste of truffle at all, I had normal fries on the table as well, I don’t need two of those. I’ve complained to the wonderful service and she took it back for the kitchen to refry it and came out with the same result, yeah still taste like normal fries to me, here’s the problem it doesn’t need to put it back in the air fryer or gods know how the BOF did it but what the fries need is truffle seasoning, if you did it with seasoning and with your “gods know process” but didn’t turn out with the truffle flavour then just remove the “Truffle” from the menu and just say “Fries”. I found it very insulting for me and the other customers who ordered it and others who wants to try the “taste of truffle” for the first time but ended up having normal fries. But yea other than the fries, restaurant acknowledgment, the order of food coming out separately and the plastic cover on the table I don’t expect anything more. And of course I’ll return to try other food in the restaurant to fully experience...
Read moreToday, dinner starts at 5.30 pm with a special lalap rice dish. Crispy fried chicken and served hot. Sambal Lada is delicious and banyak tak kedekut ("^_^). Long bean and cabbage vegetables are also enough for one portion. Also recommended for cake and coffee lover.. Although the price is a little expensive, but the price is worth it, it fits the taste and the portion size. Background music that gives enthusiasm and a positive aura. The latest easy listening songs are heard like Ernie Zakri, Misha Omar, Elica Paujin, etc. The cool, comfortable and conducive atmosphere makes us want to come again. The staff (male) Korean looks, seem gentle (lembut2) but very kind, ethical, polite and good orderly as waiters. All the staff are young and happy go lucky cheering up the atmosphere...
Read moreUpon arriving at The Palm Restaurant at 3:30 pm with a ravenous appetite, I was dismayed to discover from the waitress that the kitchen was temporarily closed, with the next opening scheduled for 6 pm. Instead, she kindly suggested that I could order drinks and cake as a substitute. Despite having already entered, I acquiesced to her suggestion and consumed whatever was available. However, if one desires a more extensive selection of beverages for tea time, I would suggest venturing to the nearby Starbucks establishment, which boasts a superior array of evening libations.
In the future, it would be prudent for The Palm Restaurant to prominently display a sign indicating the hours of operation for the kitchen to avoid such an inconvenience for...
