Grand Hotel 2 — Hotel in Borneo

This is a very good place to stay if you are in Keningau. The rooms are very inexpensive, clean and functional. Food is available just nxt to the hotel. The Double Luck Restaurant just 2 shop lots away from the hotel's entrance is a local favourite serving Chinese food.

In fact, there are many restaurants and pubs just 1 minute away. My favourite hotel in Keningau. However, there are other hotels within 1-2 mins walk as well and you should check them out too.

UPDATE Jul 2022: I still like this hotel mainly due to its location. But I can tell that it suffers from poor maintenance post-pandemic. I saw 2 cockroaches that hurriedly went under the bed when I switched on the lights coming in. The wooden braces supporting the wash basin were rotting with small chips falling off. The room doesnt smell as fresh as before. I do hope the Management will rectify these. I am sure it is not a big problem. Also, the male receptionist was very silent...nit a single word from him. I wouldn't call this a hotel, a motel maybe. The mattress sheet looks old. Theres no toiletries provided, and no door mat for the toilet. Bring your own towel in fact bring everything you need but hey its just rm 75. It's located next to a good restaurant with a musical performance, In front just across the road is a Bistro so night is gonna be loud and parking is gonna be challenging. No carpet all the hallway. You have to use stairs to go to your room. No mineral water available in the room. You have to go downstairs then go to water dispenser room just next to reservation counter to get drinking water hot n cold but don't forget to bring along your mini jug and thermos. You can buy mineral water at the reservation counter. A little bit noisy because you can hear steps and voice people talking...
