Only.Food.Wine — Restaurant in Sabah

We had one of the best meals I've ever had. We had 2 dry aged black angus steaks that were cook to medium rare seasoned perfection and two delicious pasta (I don't remember what they were because I was too focused on my steak). We also had a few appetizers that were very nice on their own. However, I mention the appetizers after the mains because the mains came out first.

Food and atmosphere top notch, but you have to train your staff better. When we were seated, we had to request for the menu, of which the waiter brought our table of four one single menu to share. We had to ask again to bring more but apparently there were only 2 in the whole restaurant (there weren't any other patrons at this point of time). When the bottle of wine was served, we were not given a taste of the wine first and every glass was immediately poured. Then, one of the appetizers came first - then the 2 pasta, then the 2 other appetizers, then the steaks. It made a very desynchronized meal experience.

To be fair, the staff were nice and compliant to our requests and suggestions. They're just poorly trained for a fine dining restaurant.

I would definitely go again but I'm not keeping my expectations high regarding the service. Or maybe I will need to tell them exactly what to...

Discover this by accident in Google maps when visiting Keningau. I did not expect to get something at this level here, and now I'm really curious why and how someone decided to open such a restaurant here in Keningau. Service is really good by all the friendly people here, and food quality and the taste they serve here is simply top notch, definitely a hidden gem no matter how you view it. Serve excellent house wine too. From start to finish meal, the service, food preparation, food presentation, all done at the highest level, especially food presentation, that is prepared at art level, with layers painted by the chef, no doubt about this. Again I was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in Sabah Keningau, never ever did I expect to find such here, seriously.
