We stayed for 2 nights here.
Room was great, bathroom was clean. I really have no complaints regarding cleanliness here.
However, the elevator was down. Down since October 2023, and Im staying here June 2024. During peak hours, we had to wait 15 minutes for a lift! Plus, if you want to go to the swimming pool, you have to report to the front counter so they can get somebody to grant you access to level 2. What a major hassle. Also, why only 1 card given to guests?
Staff was great, makes you feel welcome. The room cleaner (2 older lady) was welcoming, EXCEPT this young, big sized, housekeeping guy. We met him on level 2 on the way to the swimming pool. He didn't smile, didn't greet, and simply said write down name in logbook. I asked what did he mean, and he looks so pissed. I replied the same energy he gave me, and he looks so unapologetic. Dude, if you dont wanna be there, just leave.

Read morePros and cons. Food are nice and well served. However, please improve more on negative attitude when servicing customer during wedding reception preparation. Christopher Gan, the wedding planner showed unprofessional and unfriendly attitude throughout our wedding reception. Never being brief probably if we are required to went to the stage for wedding cake cutting and champagne toast when reception started(a while asked us to back to seat and a while ask us stand up and get to the stage). Everything going messy since reception started and disappointed of his unprofessional handling reception method. Also, he keep urging bride to fast get ready when changing gown(jz went into changing room less than 2 minutes) and he knocked off when the reception haven't ending. Was told that he is experience in wedding planning for many years but we can't see that. Hope professionalism in handling reception will...
Read moreA fantastic, old-fashioned hotel in the heart of Miri's Pelita district. From the subtly decadent lobby, to the tile-clad washrooms, and the antiquely rooms with its understated furnishings, the entire hotel top-down retains and too very well preserves its very tasteful aesthetic of decades past, one that I find very befitting of such an accomodation, in a well-to-do town like Miri, and one that I hope will live on vicariously within for many more decades to come. In other words, I hope Grand Palace continues to avoid the pitfalls of bland modernisation in refurbishment. The staff and service here are also notably stellar, and likely well-trained. I make it a point to reserve one of their reasonably-priced superior rooms whenever I find myself staying nights in this...
