This was my first time dining at this outlet. I had Korean Bento and a cold honey lemon drink. My aunt had spaghetti chicken chop and a barley drink. We also ordered sushi and a half portion of pepperoni pizza.
Overall the dining experience was pleasant. Especially the chicken from my aunt's order. It was so tender and juicy which was something I have rarely tasted in most Western food served in Miri. It's absolutely delicious.
I also enjoyed my Korean Bento. The meat wasn't even that spicy, it tasted more sweet and sour actually. It tastes well with the potatoes. The portion of rice was adequate, not too little or too much. The dumplings weren't my favourite but regardless, it tastes good as a side dish. Lemon honey doesn't taste that sweet but feels refreshing.
At the end of our dinner, we also received a voucher of 10% to dine next time at PP Cafe. Our order was a lot so I believe this voucher could be given to diners who spend a minimum amount. I will definitely come here again to taste other food. There's also a definite halal stamp for...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is now towards 4.5 starrs. It is a halal establishment. They have a wide variety of dishes: western (pasta bakes, pizza), sushi, noodles and rice dishes. It is a bit pricey, though. Their wat tan hor is RM14, kolok mee RM9. But the thing about it is that they don't skimp on the ingredients. (Which is what a lot of kopitiams are doing now, sadly. And those prices are also going up almost match Pp's but without the generous ingredients.) I've had the wat tan hor and kolok mee, which were both very tasty. Especially the kolok mee, it has the full flavour of old, but without the pork mince, or char siu, which I have no problem with. Others have also complimented on the (Hakka type) lei cha. An important aside, this place have 'air kedondong', which is not as easy to find now as it was in the good ol'...
ย ย ย Read moreMenu is very, very extensive -- they serve everything from Malaysian, to Japanese and even Western food. So far I've tasted their Mee Hoon Manicai which is delicious, but I didn't enjoy their recommended Salted Egg Chicken rice set. It was very dry and tasteless. Price-wise, they are slightly more expensive than other similar restaurants in town. Service is quick even during peak lunch hours, when the restaurant tends to be full with patrons.
The restaurant itself gives off a diner vibe with cushioned seats. During the latest visit, the table we were at had some sort of ants infestation which made the experience very...
