Grand entrance but not ventilated or near to no airconditioning, was there for a quick meeting with business partner but too hot. Good: Spacious room, Nice entrance and Private parkings with guard. Bad: Laundry services sheet in room, but when called reception 10th April morning, receptionist told me service unavailable on Sunday, so I think its ok, fair enough, but asked when or is Monday ok to do so? She replied, "Kurang Pasti" sebab reasons. Should cancel or remove the laundry price list in room if that is the case, so customers can play early for the laundry. Rooms are spacious as mentioned, but first night with no amenities, until I asked and house keeping done their work next day. Dusty. Bathroom big but shower door blurry, shower head rusty, so on. Will upload photos. Checked-in a room with faulty balcony door, can't be locked. With 2 cockroach in the room. Asked to change rooms, all good. New room small cockroach on bed (see photo) But bad experience part was, with the price RM200+ a night, these are kind of unacceptable, house keeping should do a better job. Yellowish blanket cover, mouldy chair and sofa, sticky and brownish. Chair and Sofa cushion needs replacing, seriously. Shower towel seems like very old, see photos. Dusty air-vents and so on. But again, it’s acceptable as long as their customer services are willing to help. Will visit again and hopefully next round will have a better stay experience.

Livingston Hotel, Sandakan: A Charming Getaway, Toast and All Staying at the Livingston Hotel feels like being at a fancy relative’s house—a little out of the way, but they’ve got a pool, so you forgive them. Yes, the location is a tad far from Sandakan town, but once you step inside, the spacious, chic rooms and pristine cleanliness remind you why you chose it. There’s even ample parking, which is great for your getaway car after indulging in too much toast. Speaking of toast, the breakfast spread leans heavily on the “safe” side. With bland options and limited variety, the toast ends up being the hero of the meal. But hey, at least it’s reliable. The pool is a refreshing highlight, perfect for a dip after you’ve fueled up on carbs. The receptionist? Let’s call them “efficient.” They’re not handing out warm cookies or life advice, but they get the job done. Overall, Livingston Hotel is like that friend who’s not perfect but makes up for it with style and a poolside charm. Just don’t come here expecting a Michelin-star breakfast—unless you’re judging toast.

The breakfast buffet options were really limited. Eg, theres only 1 type of chicken and they put very little amount each batch. Had to wait another batch once its finish. Its not worth paying rm25-30 per head for the breakfast. I suggest you go by foot to the nearby places or restaurant for better food options. I pick this place mainly for its swimming pool, but after seeing the water up close, its SO DIRTY! You can see a lot of phlegm, saliva, dust, hairs, some trash inside the water with algae. THERE WERE LOTS OF HAIRS during my visit. I felt disgusted by the water pool, pls save ur kids from going into the disease-ridden pool. The hotel needs to upgrade their pool- water filter system. Please.I tried the full body massage service, cost me about RM78, it was okay-ish. Not much to compliment or complaint, it was very average. And they dont use proper massage bed, they use thin mattress placed on the floor. So you cannot put ur face down, u need to put ur face sideways, which made my neck uncomfortable the whole time. Otherwise room was okay, they need to clean under the bed, as i notice theres A LOT OF trash under the bedframe. The towel seems to be very old, they need to replace it. Looks very worn out. During my stay, the water pipe had rust in it. It was very rusty for the whole 1 hour, i had to flush it out before the water become usable.Mind you. Theres a lot of positive things about the place too, but a positive experience should be a given, that a basic standards, so i only point out the things that may ward you off from coming to this place if you're like me. Im travelling with kids, so I expect more quality service. If im travelling alone, i really don't care with the downsides...

4 stars for the friendly front desk staff 😀 It is a very new and recently completed hotel. They haven't even set up their restaurant for guests who are looking for quick meals. Luckily Bandar Kim Fung is just next door and within 5 min walking distance. (Watson, Pizza Hut, coffee shops, weekly saturday night market, and etc can be found in Bandar Kim Fung). As with any new hotel, facilities, linens and rooms were still clean. The Delux King Room on the 3rd floor is spacious with a huge king-sized bed in the middle of the room. The bathroom is roomy and has no bathtub (not a problematic issue at all). Instead, it is equiped with a roomy shower stall. Hairdryer, electric jug, flat screen TV, a safe, basic bathroom ammenities, one pair of room slippers, two FOC bottles of water were found in the room allocated to me. Funnily though, coffee cups, stirrers and FOC tea/coffee were not found. Bar fridge also was not found in the room (a very very tiny inconvenience for most perhaps). Bonus plus points: the room is equipped with lots of universal power sockets (less worries with charging gadgets and no need for Travel Adapter also), and a built in LAN cable. My two main complaints: 1.) The bathroom sink gave off stinky smell which hit me upon entering the room (for a new hotel, this is somewhat unacceptable perhaps). 2. One roach decided to come out and play while I was out for dinner. Caught the critter red handed and managed to send it to...
