Kluang Riverview Hotel — Hotel in Johor

TLDR: If you’re a heavy sleeper who can snooze through an earthquake (I’m talking about a magnitude 8.0 here), MAYBE this hotel will work for you. If not, stop reading and look elsewhere. (Unless you’re into raves and questionable music tastes at 3AM, then damn, son, you’re in luck.)

Personal experience: I stayed here for one night.

The hotel location is decent—not super fancy, but convenient. It’s next to a bus terminal, with a simple mall nearby and easy access to eateries within walking distance. Front desk staff, Aishah, was friendly and super helpful.

My room didn’t have windows, but it was smoke-free, reasonably clean, and spacious. Everything worked as it should. The bed was clean and comfy too.

Now, the dealbreaker: The hotel is right next to a KTV/club. I don’t know if the hotel or KTV came first, but the latter had super loud fengtao music (Is this really still a thing in 2024?) blasting from late night till 5 freaking AM. Because sleep is for the weak, right?
