New City Hotel — Hotel in Kajang Municipal Council

The male staff that assisted me with the check-in process was really friendly and helpful. Check-in process was fuss free.

However, when I checked-out today, I was met with some issues by a lady staff. I came back from a morning run at around 10.15am. My card couldn't access the door. I understand that there may be some technical errors once in a while. The lady staff then opened my door with a master key and told me that my "time finished".

I told her that my check-out is at 12pm originally. Then, she told me I have to check-out by 11am. I was very shocked. I asked her what's with the change of timing since I wasn't informed beforehand. She proceeded to tell me that my check-out time has already finished. I'm not sure what went wrong but it felt like she was chasing me out of the hotel when I clearly had 1h45mins till the end of my stay.

So I checked out at 11.05am and she was there again to assist with my check-out. She told me that I just have to handover the card physically to her and I'm all set. To which I told her numerous times that I have to return the card to the machine so the machine could update the system and I could get back my deposit. Instead, she kept insisting that she's right.

A contractor entered the hotel lobby and she needed to communicate with them. I took the chance to try and quickly check-out via the machine (as instructed by the male staff when I first came to the hotel). The lady staff saw me in the act and swiftly came back to me, tapping the screen on the machine, continued to insist that what I'm doing is unnecessary. Only when my deposit came out of the machine, then she kept quiet and let me go.

This is by far the worst accommodation I have ever been. The walkway is stink badly. Very bad smell at the corridor. Toilet or drain smell. No ventilation corridor. Room is in bad condition. Small bed. Bad condition mattress. Nothing in the room. You have to climb stairs to go to the toilet. The toilet is higher than your bed. 1st time in my life to see this type of room. No reception counter. No one is available for you. If you have problem. Only call. This hotel shouldn’t open for business at all. Should shut it down so that it will stop bad impressions about hoyel...

I used to like this hotel. The room is nice and price is cheap. But at the second time i coming here, the service is bad. Checked in for two nights but need to change the room for the other one night because of electricity problem. But then i can't enter my room, the key card is not functioning, i waited more than half an hour to staff fix it. But they're busy doing i don't know what, they keep me waiting like a fool at the counter. Seriously...
