Currently at the hotel, room 8003. I dunno why the number is so high, there is less than 10 pods here from what I can tell đ. ||I have two nights left of my total of four before I head to Rebak island. I love this place! Itâs so cool! Itâs like staying in your own Teletubby house đ. The pods are beautiful, quite big, comfy beds, pillows and have a sofa bed. Canât fault that. I love the large circular windows on the sides and how you look straight out into your garden area. Great to wake up to. The air-con is amazing too. There is a large pool here also, roughly 22m x 7m so plenty of room even if all the pods were full. Iâve come during Ramadan (without knowing) and itâs totally dead. Maybe 2 other pods with guests from what I can tell so it feels like I have the whole place to myself. So good! |The staff are really friendly and helpful, in-fact that could be said for every local person on the island quite frankly! Such a lovely bunch of people. There isnât always someone on the desk here to help should you need it but there is a WhatsApp number so all you do it message them anytime and someone will get back to you very quickly to help. I get a text each morning asking what time I want my room made up which is quite handy. Little touches like that I love. ||There are no TVâs in the pods which I love also! There is good WiFi though so can watch something on your iPad etc if you really need to. đ¤ˇââď¸ ||I only have 3 negatives about this place and they are small to me but may be big for you. Here goes⌠||1. Location. |Itâs about a 15-20 min walk to the beach. Normally I wouldnât care but in 31 degrees heat that is not fun. Iâd recommend a moped. Thereâs a guy up the road I rented mine from for 295 ringgit for 4 days and was the best thing ever! I couldnât get a car as the hotel is in a residential area, pretty tight and I wouldnât feel confident driving around here quite frankly. The bike however is a dream! You can also just get a Grab taxi, itâs something silly like 5 ringgit to the beach and cooler to walk back in the evening. ||2. Storage. |There is a clothes stand in the pod and a small set of draws for the towels and complimentary slippers. Nothing else. Im travelling solo so have a suitcase and a rucksack. This isnât an issue for me as I can live out of a suitcase but this may be an issue for you. ||3. Smallest issue of all, the shower isnât the most powerful so if you have a power shower back home them this is take some getting used to however it heats up really well if you want a hot on and can chuck out pretty cold water too so all good there.||Tips: ||1. Get a moped! There are so many long straights and twisty bends that it is so much fun and very safe. They drive on the left here like in the UK which I wasnât aware of and all seem to like to drive slow so you get to most places very quickly. You could get a taxi but with the moped you can literally park on the beach, if you got to Kuah you can park right on the edge of Eagle Square and go straight in right to the entrance to the sky bridge etc so way more convenient. ||2. For some reason I have failed to find a single restaurant here that does Malaysian food. Youâve got every western restaurant going and some Thai, Indian and Chinese but no local foods which I found quite sad however hit the night markets! Sooooo good and cheap! There is a different one each day of the week so google it and check where it is. I think my favourite one so far is the one in Kuah. Aim to go around 6.30, thatâs when most stalls have opened up. One more tip, if the locals arenât queuing for a particular stall then neither should you! Unless itâs Milo, which is amazing stuff!...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here from Dec 22 to Jan 3rd 2025 and had a great time. We had a villa with a private pool which was definitely worth the upgrade. On Christmas Day we had a floating breakfast - it was delicious as well as something youâll probably never experience again.Privacy and relaxation was at the heart of our stay and the staff always knocked and asked permission before entering the garden.|The room and the grounds are immaculate and kept that way by a workforce who made up our room and cleared the pool and garden of leaves every day. The air con was quiet and efficient and the ceiling fan cooled the room down to allow us to sleep comfortably.|All the staff are friendly, smiling and helpful and one of them (Tarak?) took us on a sightseeing tour of the island when we couldnât find what we wanted with a tour operator.|The hotel provides free toiletries, bottled water and also cartons of soft drinks and snacks. The towels are changed daily and they left an extra one for my wifeâs hair when she requested it.|The hotel was too far away from the town to walk, but it was less than ÂŁ1 in a taxi. It is essential that you buy a Malaysian SIM card, available at the airport or in Cenang town, as you will need the Grab app for taxis and the hotel staff communicate via WhatsApp.|The hotel only does breakfast, so we ate in Cenang every night where it is a hive of activity.|The temperature was in the mid thirties and it only rained once for an hour one evening so pack plenty of shorts and T-shirts. Shorts are accepted everywhere on an evening and itâs unlikely youâll see a tourist in long trousers.|All in all, it was a great holiday made better by the fantastic staff of the hidden gem that is Found Mansion. If we ever visit Cenang agin, we would definitely return...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at Found Mansion!||We stayed at this accommodation for a few days, and it was generally a pleasant experience. The location is about a 15-minute walk from the nearest shops, which wasnât an issue for us since we knew this before booking. The area was quiet, offering a peaceful retreat after a day out, which we appreciated.||The room itself was comfortable, though the cleaning service was a bit hit or miss. While they did clean daily (if you wanted), the standard wasnât the best, though we did appreciate the regular restocking of snacks and drinks, which were complimentary. It was a nice touch to have mugs, cups, and cutlery available, making it perfect for grabbing street food and enjoying a meal on the patio.||One downside was the pool. The robot cleaner worked on the floor, but unfortunately, the pumps that clean the top layer of the water were not on during our stay, leading to a layer of dead bugs floating on the surface.||Another small inconvenience was that the cafĂŠ didn't seem open during our stay. It would have been helpful to have more clarity on that, especially since we werenât sure where to get food on-site or order a coffee mid-morning!||Also, a heads-up: they do ask for a 100 Malaysian Ringgit deposit upon check-in, which we didnât realize initially, so be sure to have that ready.||Overall, for the price and location, itâs a solid choice. While there were a few minor inconveniences, the quietness, the amenities in the room, and the free snacks/drinks made up for it. Would consider...
